Dumser's Dairyland Drive-In — Restaurant in Ocean City

Do not recommend this establishment. The twelve year old "employees " know nothing about customer service. And they probably shouldn't at that young age. By the way no adults anywhere (maybe smokin crack out behind building who knows ). Ordered a shake, simple enough even for a 12 year old. Paid my 7$ opened up my shake because it didn't look right, it was basically milk with flavor on top. Not ever blended together . Ok I thought no big deal. Tasted kinda like chocolate milk. So I walked back to window where the 12 year old was working and tried to explain to her how a milkshake was made. She told me that she made the shake and put the topping on later. At that point I decided to just take another hit on vacation and threw it away went back to the car and my wife had me throw hers away as well. Should have just thrown 15 bucks in the trash can and avoided all of the frustration. Long story I know but bottom line. Here we come Dairy Queen never to stray to a mom and pop shop again. DUMSERS...

This ended up being the most expensive dinner we had while on vacation. My husband and I both had the same meal and we shared an ice cream sundae to go. I didn't think our meal ( hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy ) was anything special. We liked the mashed potatoes, the gravy could have been more generous and i thought my root beer tasted weird. We ate because it was late and hungry, no need to complain about it, it did the job. The table we sat at need some attention to having the walls wiped down. There is old ketchup on the wall by the window, plenty of it. The atmosphere was nice, there's a mirrored bar that you can sit at if you wanted to and I think that's were they do your ice cream if I'm not mistaken.

The ice cream IS where it's at. We had pretty much a turtle sundae and there was SO MUCH in there. At first glance it didn't look like enough for two but yes it was, we didn't even finish it.

If we're in the area again, I'd probably only come back...

Loved this place! We were looking for a casual option for dinner on an extremely busy Thrusday night in Ocean City. Every place had at least a 40 minute wait and we stumbled upon this family-style "drive-in." don't be fooled by the name--you can order carry out from a walk up window or sit and eat inside. It was similar to the food found at Friendly's. Comfort-casual with lots of options for picky kids. (Kids meals or senior meals only $6.49)

Our server Lexi was fantastic. She was attentive and checked on us just the right number of times. She was friendly and got everything right. Our food came out very quickly and was hot and correct. I will definitely put this on my list for the next time I am in Ocean City.

I would recommend to anyone looking for a casual dinner with ice cream for dessert 😉 Hard ice cream is home-made! Not sure about soft.

They also carry 1 sugar-free flavor.
