I was a guest staying at the Grand Hotel and came to purchase a Coke. There was no cashier behind the counter so I sat down in the coffee shop with my Coke. Within a few minutes a woman said you didn’t pay for that and I replied with there was no one behind the register but now that you’re here I can pay. As I’m walking to pay she replies you had no right to take the bottle. I said you can keep your bottle and don’t deserve my business. I asked for her name and she wouldn’t give it to me, instead told another employee to call security on me. Her coworker told me to leave because they’re busy. They spoke with possibly an Albanian accent. I asked for the manager and she also spoke with a similar accent. I told the manager that I felt they were being racist and disrespectful by accusing me of theft when they should’ve been behind the register. I told her no one steals a drink and sits there with it. Also that they wouldn’t give me their names but I have photos so you may know who they are. Instead of apologizing for her racist staff she said don’t take photos of them. These seasonal workers need to understand America is a melting pot and not bring their racial biases to the US.

An off the beach coffee shop and cafe located in the Grand Hotel that supplies snacks, drinks and smaller convenience items. This small but quaint to go location with a few tables is a place I've come back to for years now and never disappoints with its focus on stronger coffee and quick service for those busy beach days. If you're looking for something off the main stream give this coffee a try!

Otis… what a sweet, sweet gentleman that served me so kindly at the Java Cafe! I ordered a large mocha latte with extra mocha syrup and he delivered but with an extra special valentine touch! He made my drink so beautiful and even delivered it with a sweet smile! Thank you, Otis! You are so appreciated by putting that extra sweet effort to my drink! It was noticed and appreciated!❤️

Only went here since Duncan Donuts on 17th St behind the Spinnaker hotel is closed. Will not go back to Java Beach, placed my order for a simple large hot coffee with XX cream and sugar order#79. It took 12 minutes which I'm ok with, but 3 people got their coffee's before me. Which led me to believe that my coffee order was picked by a trainee and the order was placed on top of the counter as order #83. I stepped up and announced that I'm still waiting for my order#79. The trainee and trainer said I guess that one is yours, I said ! You guess . Well is it mine or not??? For a coffee store, you would think when you order something , that you wouldn't have to add the cream and sugar. Won't go back !! I'll drive across the bridge to get Duncan Donuts...

Customer service is horrible.. to have me believing they are racist. I have not experience such awful experience with a cafe inside a hotel I am staying in and their customer service is quite different. Even with the prices a bit higher than one can go outside the hotel and eat a very good breakfast or drink a juice a lot cheaper I would not mind paying if the customer service was different. It is always one female who is rude, not polite. Place is not stock with what you want and it is like it does not matter they don't have it go somewhere else attitude. I experienced more than once and that is too many times to not share and not patronize...
