Ugh.. Breakfast..
Usually before I enter a restaurant, I take all the reviews (good and bad), the price, and others’ experience into account before experiencing myself, and even considering writing a review.
I’m giving The Anchor a one star because it was simply that. Our service was nice, not very on point though. The atmosphere was a little meh as the place needs a touch up, especially the airflow, it seemed very run down, the edge of the tables were sticky, the dispensers (salt, pepper, syrup, etc) need replaced/modernized.
We were hungry, it was close by, and saw the prices were lower compared most places in the area.. and right there (the “low” price) should’ve said it all, even though our bill was high. $43 for two people..why? ESPECIALLY with the food not tasting good. The fan above our table also caused our food and my coffee to get cold.. my half filled coffee tasted TERRIBLE after it got cold, and I can usually tolerate cold coffee.
The 5 individuals at the table beside ours were missing multiple items on their plates and kept having to ask their server for these items, which the server then explained that they apparently didn’t have those items.
There was this weird smell that started to fill the air after about 5-10 minutes of sitting which was very displeasing.
The Anchors priorities are not straight, obviously, as each server was using touch screen devices to put in our order and for payment. Why not put that money into something else such as new syrup dispensers, or simply better tasting food?
I don’t usually write bad reviews, and when I do, it’s not to make the establishment look bad, but to simply inform others of the quality - and to hopefully inform the owner to get their ducks in a row.
We had breakfast, so maybe lunch and supper are better - however I will not be returning...
Read moreMy family and I have stayed at Days Inn for the last two years in July and so we have came here often. It is a smaller diner type restaurant and the owner is a VERY nice respectable man. Sometimes the wait is longer however that is because there are a lot of people who visit- this is a tourist place you should expect a wait like any other restaurant. The waitresses are amazing and do a great job- even when they were short staffed one day you could see they were doing their very best! We have had breakfast and lunch here all good food- we didn't get the opportunity for dinner. Also, they have the best drinks for the price! We will continue to stay at Days Inn as well as continue to visit this restaurant as we love the friendly staff and...
Read moreWe ate here twice during stay at the Days Inn. June 2025 Both times the food was excellent, I want to go back just to have the French toast again. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint would be if both times even though we were clearly done eating and ready to pay we had to request the check. I'm not sure why but this really annoyed me. It clearly states on the menu that there's a charge for paying with card, if you don't like that id recommend bringing cash. It's a little pricier than getting something from McDonald's but for being right next to the boardwalk and in Ocean City it wasn't that expensive. Especially compared to some of the other places...
