I just ordered takeout from here so I can't say too much about the atmosphere, but buying food from this place was a frustrating experience. I first tried to make an order on their website and that's where I discovered that every entree that's listed as 16-18 dollars DOES NOT come with meat, which is an extra 5-6 dollars per meat added. On top of this, there's always going to be 3+ dollars added to whatever you order because they force a 15% gratuity for their chefs. So a 16 dollar burrito I ordered was actually a 26 dollar burrito after ordering it with meat, as well as "fees" and taxes. Save the surprise fees for people ordering Door dash. Couldn't even go and pick up food for a reasonable price so if you go in and eat it'll only be that much more expensive with a tip.
My food was alright but it was nothing to write home about. The tortilla and the sauce was good but I ordered the carne asada and the meat was so incredibly salty and greasy that it was overpowering at times. The burrito also came with avocado which was delicious, but only distributed into one half of my burrito. Not sure what the garnish is on top of the burrito but it added nothing to the flavor and added a strange texture on top of everything else. And then there's the random slop to the side of the burrito of what seems to be lettuce, onions, and red onions? Burrito was ALRIGHT but again, 26 dollars worthy? No. My girlfriend got enchiladas and said they were so salty that she almost didn't finish them. Then minutes later she bit into a really small plastic looking piece in her food and lost her appetite.
All in all the food is middle of the road and you're going to pay 60+ dollars if you go in to eat and get appetizers etc. They have so many surprise fees and ways to gauge you that it has swayed me from ever wanting to try again. 16 dollar burrito went to 26 dollar burrito, and I highly doubt those poor chefs are even having that "gratuity fee" meet...
Read moreOur buddy, who is a local, loves Mexican food & said "let's try". Very nice place- all around. Decor is nice & inviting. There is also a partition/separating bar patrons from restaurant patrons. The background music was quite entertaining (70s/80s/90s with a mexican/mariachi vibe🤣). Server (although I can't remember the gentleman's name) assisted us with details & explanations, as well as some personal favorites👍 We were a party of 3 & decided to order a few things & create a "buffet". Chips & salsa-so good while we waited for entrees! Casa housemade salsa, mild, but delish. Fajitas were delicious, with plenty of shrimp, chicken & steak! We added some extra tortillas to the fajitas as well. Birria Tacos were fantastic! Little "Pillows" full of mmmmm😋the Shredded beef-perfection. I am not a Jalapeño girl, but the Jalapeño Crema was not hot & was a delicious topping. We decided to split the create your own Street tacos- just to taste em- they were alright-but I personally recommend opting for one of their more signature dishes(like those Birria tacos mentioned above). Also had a Papi's Signature Raspberry Margarita- smooth & tasty. Unfortunately, we were diving right in- dividing stuff up and no one got any pictures of our food!!! But I'm telling you-everything looked as good as it tasted! We were VERY happy with our food AND the portions for the price were decent! Great meal for reasonable price! Highly...
Read morelet me start out by saying all of the front desk ladies & bussers were amazing. If it weren’t for the experience with alissa ( that’s what the front desk told me that, that was her name she was white with blonde hair) & did not put her name on the receipt. Well if it weren’t for her I wouldn’t be writing this. First off she was extremely rude, condescending & overall a just disgusting person. First my family had to keep repeating themselves & we’re followed up with a what or huh very unprofessional & she didn’t hide that she was aggravated with my aunt who was having trouble pronouncing words in English. Funny it being a “Mexican spot” I kindly asked her “ is there something you can do ? My wings are very salty” she responded with an eye roll and a “ they are old bay what do you expect “ and I didn’t reply at all because she wasn’t worth it she knew she was wrong so she came back and asked if I was going to switch them and asked me multiple times and I told her to leave it because she was getting loud and nasty. she didn’t get a manager or anything and I left without eating. I get having a bad day but come on people come from out of town to enjoy themselves && she’s just flat out mean & condescending. Shes what made this restaurant experience horrible. WOULD NEVER COME BACK! Should’ve gone to a pizza spot on the board walk if we knew we would be...
