I don't give a truly harsh review unless it's warranted, and this, my friends, is one of those occasions. We were going here because their pizza sounded really good. It was our last night here, so I spent all afternoon narrowing it down to this place to sit outside by the water, so we wanted to sit outside.... this was somehow missed by the hostess, and we were texted to come in for a table, but it was inside. So we said we didn't mind waiting for an outside one. We were very polite. I gave her my number again, and she must have put us at the bottom of the list. People came and went. It wasn't super busy. Then we started to see more and more drunk people. I'm not opposed to a party, but I was there with my mom, and there were families there. And these were loud, stumbling, drunk people. The one lady threw up walking out the door, I thought she just spilled whatever was in the cup she had because she tripped. Here, she barfed and almost fell into the plant outside doing so. The staff then went to clean it up with a bucket of soapy water after everyone was stepping in it. And just opened the door and threw it right on the incoming patrons' shoes, so they had to jump out of the way and still probably got their shoes splashed. We were sitting right outside the door, and after about an hour waiting for a pizza, we decided to go to another place down the road. Just as we got up, we heard a huge crash, and screaching tires, and saw the telephone pole in front of our car shake wildly. We ran to the car, and here, someone swerved up onto the sidewalk, took out a shrub, drove through the stones and hit the pole, which would have been our car, or possibly pushed the one next to us into the family that was waiting there for their table. We were definitely leaving after that. It's now after closing, 4hrs after going there..... and I STILL have not received a text for an open table. They never knew that we left to take us off the list. I also heard multiple people complaining about their wait and speculating when they saw tables opening that that HAD to finally be theirs. Others settled for takeout instead of waiting. I would have liked to review the food, but I never got the chance. I never want to even give this place a chance after this. It was also early evening on a Tuesday, so what the hell is the weekend like here? We must have gotten put on the end of the list for tomorrow........... I am very disappointed in how this establishment is run and how the night ended up going because of this place. I'd recommend not trying it after what we witnessed. I wish I could give...
Read moreOn vacation staying in Bethany. While here we were able to link up with some friends and their two daughters, aged 6 and 8, that live in Delaware. After an awesome beach day, we were all super stoked to make the trek down to O.C. with the kids and our 10 month old and check out Shotti’s Point! Or so we thought…
Our party of 7(really 6) arrived a little after 5 only to be greeted by a grumpy hostess. We did our typical and said we needed a table for 6 and a 1/4. I know, we’re cheesy. “Oh. So you’re going to need a high chair?”, the hostess rudely asked. We replied yes and she explained that they can only put a high chair at one table. Perfectly fine with us, no biggie. Said table was like a 10 top at least with three people sitting at it. Hostess in her snarky ‘tude said that the three person party had already finished their food but still had drinks and she’s “guesses it will be 30 minutes or so” along with an eye roll. Again, no biggie, we don’t mind waiting. Hit the restroom and head outside to wait.
So we are sitting outside waiting, just enjoying the gorgeous weather when we see three ladies walk in. We think nothing of it. Until I turn and look and see they just sat those ladies at the freaking table we were waiting for!!!
After seeing this, our friend heads inside to see what’s going on, because, what the hell, man?? Inside, ms. rude proceeds to full blown lie to us saying those ladies were already there and their food would be right out. Lies. I was born at night, but not last night. When we first entered there was literally only the 3 people previously mentioned. The other end of the table was completely clear. No napkins, no cups, no utensils, nothing. No one was “already there”. So, we left.
Total bummer, man. We were stoked to check Shotti’s out. Only to be discriminated on because we had children. The place has a freaking kids menu! That’s part of the reason we chose there. If you don’t want kids in your establishment, don’t have a damn kids menu!!
Long story short, don’t go to Shotti’s Point. They don’t want your business if...
Read moreThe establishment was ok and we got seated easily, we were located in their outside seating. Let me break it down for you:
Food: rhino fries: would not get again, great portion size, not skimpy on seasoning but the sauce and the garlic did not go well together, did get soggy after 3 minutes so eat fast. Ziggy Wings: would get again, great flavor and goes well with the ranch, downside was that the wings did not have much meat and were fattier than most wings I’ve eaten. So Cal tacos: would get again, amazing tacos if you are a spicy shrimp taco person, cook perfectly and lacked dryness or rubberiness. Just be careful as the taco shells do fall apart easily on the bottom. Old pro wrap: would not get again, it was a nice sized wrap. The only good thing about it was the bacon had flavor and was crispy, other then that the whole wrap was tasteless.
Service: Our server was ok but was not the best was hard to get a hold of her for just the simplest things (need for ranch and the check). Felt like we waited to long for simple things, they also seemed like they just didn’t wanna be there.
The biggest issue that had me wanting to post a review was that the cleanliness was the place was below what it should be for an established that is not the biggest. The table was sticky, and since it was like a picnic table it was caked with dirt and grime as there version of cleaning a table is a man with a bag and a wet rag that they quick drag over to push stuff into a trash bag. Also I ended up stepping in a lot of pizza toppings (couldn’t get it all in one pic). It just turned me off from wanting to come back as someone that was dressed in shorts and nice converse stepping on food and sitting on a sticky stool.
In all seriousness their food is below most of the places I have eaten at in Ocean City and their cleanliness at the end of the day is what will turn me away from eating...
