Sunrise Diner in Ocean City Maryland. Sunrise Diner is located right next to the boardwalk in Ocean City. It’s a small Dinner that has their own theme and different kinds of theme food besides the old French toast and pancakes you get all the time at different breakfast places. The diner is underneath a hotel. It’s in a location that you have to look to find since it’s kinda hidden. Our visit was Tuesday June 20, 2023.
You can navigate through the diner easy as the place is small and only have two available rooms for guest. As you walk into the diner, you have the front desk where you see your hostess and the cashier where you pay after you eat your breakfast. As soon a table was ready. They took us in the other room where all the tables was. Our host sat us in a booth. We sit down and order our drinks which was the orange juice and we started to looked through the menu.
The menu wasn’t a very big menu but it had a lot of options for you. We ordered the Donut French Toast and the Cookie French Toast. We also order a side of eggs and Turkey bacon. You do have to order them for sides and doesn’t come with the French toast. We did want to order the biscuits and gravy but they was out unfortunately. We waited about 10-13 minutes for the food.
Both French Toast was good. I really liked the Cookies French Toast better than the Donut French Toast but it was still good. The Turkey bacon was delicious and the eggs was good too. All together the food was delicious. It kinda was a bummer not available to get biscuits and gravy as that kind of food was one of our favorite breakfast options.
The place was clean and very nicely decorated. You feel very welcome to Sunrise Diner. I love the sunrise them all around the Diner. It felt like you could always be happy in that kind of environment. The bathrooms was clean during our visit even with a busy crowd.
The staff was amazing. Very friendly and very helpful of what is the best option on the menu to pick from. Our waiter was nice and always had a smile on her face. Looked like she really liked her job. The guy that bring us our food was very nice. We didn’t have any issues with any of the staff.
We do recommend this place for a great breakfast option is Ocean City Maryland. The price are a little high though but that is something for a small business. We pay over $70 bucks for what we got. We did a lot of add ons to our food like cheese on the eggs etc. They do cost extra for that stuff. We went on a weekday so don’t know if it’s busy on a weekend but you should definitely try Sunrise Diner during you vacation at Ocean...
Read moreThis was the worst breakfast experience I've ever had. We got there right when they opened because we had just finished watching the sunrise. We sat at our table to see trash and forks under ours and other tables in the dining room. Clearly whoever's closing the restaurant isnt cleaning up to be presentable for customers in the morning. My girlfriend ordered the breakfast burrito and I got the breakfast plate with potatoes, toast, scrambled eggs, and bacon. My girlfriend got a water and I got an orange juice. Both of our cups were filthy and we had stuff floating in our drinks. When I got my plate I could only eat the bacon. The potatoes are frozen tater tots that were fried in oil that clearly hadn't been changed because they tasted rancid. Restaurants dont realize how important changing oil frequently is because that nasty oil gets soaked into whatever you fry in it. My toast was stale and my scrambled eggs were more like an omelette and overcooked. My girlfriend had the same rancid tasting tater tots and overcooked egg in her burrito. We both didnt finish our plates they looked like we didn't even touch them. The waitress never came over to ask how our food was and only returned to give us a check. We both got sick from what we did eat. Lastly, TOURISTS BEWARE. Based on the owners response to the other reviewers criticism I can tell they have never taken any sort of restaurant management class. As someone with a degree in the field I cannot stress enough the importance of 1. Responding to customer complaints in a professional manner because if you do so you can get them to try again, change their review, and then...make more money 2. Realizing that when you have more than one person saying the same things maybe you do have some problems with your restaurant or staff 3. Taking note of complaints and trying to fix them so that you can make your restaurant better which will again lead to more money and a more popular restaurant 4. Not depending on tourists because the whole goal is to not only attract tourists but to have repeat visitors from your home base...
Read moreI was appalled when I came inside to an odor unlike anything I have ever smelled, the stench of toilet water and fried food hits you as you walk in. My parties table had not been wiped down, due to the lack of such an important detail, a couple of us ended up getting jelly on ourselves from putting our arms up on the table. The menus stuck to the table, just to give you an idea. A cup of coffee is 4.99, and it was the worst coffee I have ever tasted. After ordering an omelet with HAM and peppers, I was greeted by an omelet with bacon which was rock hard and unchewable and uncooked peppers which where crunchy. My friend had a medical condition wich didn’t allow him to consume sugar, so he requested sugar free maple syrup which was not available. 2 times we asked for napkins and where never given any. The server was not nice and welcoming and was cold and dry and gave us one worded answers for everything, and overall was not pleasant to deal with. The food appeared to be small in portion sizes. The potatoes where not fresh potato’s as to be expected for the price we payed. I over heard a customer nicely ask what the sizes where per egg so she could decide weather to get 2 or 3 eggs and the server states “ the size depends on how many you get “ in a rude manner, causing the customer to apologize as if she did something wrong. The over all flavor was bland and just not there. I had high hopes for this place but unfortunately we couldn’t wait to get out of there. So 150 dollars later, we where heavily disappointed. Highly recommend going to the bayside...
