If Ocean Shores is the heartbeat of the coast, then Bennett’s Fish Shack is the soul.
Let me tell you—this isn’t just food, this is a pilgrimage.
💡 First visit: I ordered the crab melt. Simple, right? But then Aubrey—the bartender, the vibe-setter, the lighthouse in this Shack—leaned in with a secret only legends share: “Swap the bread for a quesadilla.” My life changed in that moment. Every bite? Waves of flavor crashing like the Pacific itself. I left haunted—in the best way—craving it for months until I finally returned.
🦀 The Crab Cocktail: Not filler. Not fluff. Just thick, pure, ocean-born crab stacked high, the kind you dream about on long drives home. Each bite whispers: This is why you came to Ocean Shores.
🍸 The Cocktails: Aubrey doesn’t just pour drinks—she crafts experiences. Every glass carries laughter, energy, and a reminder that joy is meant to be shared. She’s magnetic, unforgettable, the kind of bartender that makes you feel like family from sip one. I tried to leave her a massive tip, but the system doesn’t allow it. That broke my heart—because when you have a star that bright, you want the world to know.
🌟 The Call and Response: • Travelers, listen—don’t come to Ocean Shores without coming here. • Locals, speak it loud—this is your Shack. • Families, couples, solo wanderers—this is where the coast welcomes you home.
🎨 And the community runs deeper than the menu—did you know the local artist from Red Sky Tattoo designs a yearly shirt to keep the spirit alive here? That’s legacy. That’s soul.
So here’s my truth: Bennett’s isn’t a stop. It’s the reason you came. When you eat here, you’re not just feeding your body—you’re feeding memory, tradition, and story.
🕊️ 1000 years from now, when people ask “What made Ocean Shores unforgettable?”—the answer will still be the same: Bennett’s Fish Shack.
Bennett’s: Farrah, I encourage you to show the same courtesy to all guests. It was disappointing to feel overlooked—especially given. Our table was left without attention or acknowledgment. Respect and consistency are everything in hospitality, and I hope this feedback helps raise the standard moving forward. All people tip and...
Read morethis rating is relative to the area, and what is avaliable in town. If this restaurant was outside of ocean shores, it wouldn't get such a high rating. The food is enjoyable, but relatively average. Its American diner-esque cuisine, and it meets ones expectations... so for ocean shores, that says ALOT! Hence, the 4/5 ☆review
The lady at the front desk at our hotel recommended this restaurant, saying it was the only restaurant she likes to eat at in ocean shores. We took her advice. We ordered cod fish and chips, and the prime rib melt, along with two stubborn sodas. This was our first time here, and if you've never been here, You might be wondering( like I was) what the heck is a stubborn soda?... They are not alcoholic. Rather, it is the brand of soda served from the self-serve fountain in the restaurant. They have Classic and contemporary flavors. I had the pineapple cream soda. While it was not the most flavourful drink, It was light, crisp and refreshing. Not too sweet- while still giving pineapple cream. The fish&chips were done right& they seemed to be what everyone was ordering-so its a safe choice, if that's your thing. I was not disappointed with my prime rib sandwich- which I chose after reading mixed reviews about the crab melt. If you don't know where to eat while in town, I definitely recommend you eat here. Honestly, it's quite a gamble when picking up a restaurant here, because so many do disappoint. While it is an "order at. the counter and sit down"-type situation, I give the service such a higher review, because the waitress who came around and checked on us. She honored my request for extra pickles to take home - giving me more than I expected, along with a little bit of pleasant banter, which I really appreciated. So thanks to her, that category gets four stars - But without her, it would have been...
Read moreI was looking forward to trying Bennett's after hearing so much about them from a few friends. We were there recently for a girls weekend and stopped in for lunch. The wait wasn't terribly bad but the parking lot was quite full, and we ended up parking in the lot next to the restaurant since the business there was closed. For a cold winter day this place was hopping! We each ordered a dungeness crab cocktail, clam strips and a cup chowder for me. I was wanting their oyster shooters but they were out sadly. The chowder was good and had good amount of clams in it. The crab cocktail came with a good amount of crab but holy moly was the cocktail sauce super hot, whoever made the cocktail sauce that day was very heavy handed with the horseradish. I like a good spicy cocktail sauce but this was too much, even for me. I was crying with burning sinuses the whole time. The clam strips were overdone and rubbery, it felt like we were eating rubber bands. Out of the batch we only had 1-2 tender pieces. It was almost like their sign was taunting me about the "tender clam strips". The fries however were perfect and well seasoned. We were pleasantly surprised to see they had Stubborn soda, it seems that it's part of the Pepsi Co company. We liked the different flavors as well as the more classic offerings. You order upfront and take the number to a table where the staff bring food to you. I saw how during peak hour where people in line were crowding the soda and front door area, which made for a bit of a chaotic situation but they do have staff kinda re-directing folks where to stand. Overall the ambiance was nice and they do have separate bar area if you want actual libations. Besides the rubbery clams, I look forward to coming back here and trying other...
