We absolutely have loved Anita's and had considered it our go to spot. We always sit at the bar and talk to the locals and the great bartenders, Travis and Blanca. The Margaritas are awesome and they have a nice tequila selection. That is until the last time we went in and my husband asked the unfamiliar gentleman behind the bar for the Tequila menu that he likes to chose a sipping tequila from. The gentleman asked if my husband wanted to sample a Blanco tequila that was his choice and gave my husband a shot and then told him next he wanted to give him a sample of the reposado tequila. We found seats at the bar and ordered dinner and surprised a young military couple we were chatting with by buying their dinner as well. My husband asked the bartender, Blanca, to ask the gentleman if he could sample the recommended Reposado tequilla now. Well long story short the man came over and was extremely loud and angry and gave my husband the tequila and then loudly proclaimed "here and I forgot to add the first to your bill" -It was unnecessary, surprising, shocking and extremely rude. We spend a good amount of money at this establishment regularly and have never been treated rudely. Shocked we paid the bill and left as the staff also looked shocked and let us know that this was an owner! Disgusting treatment of your customers who will not be back. He presented as rude, full of himself and disrespectful. We asked him for absolutely nothing, he offered and then embarrassed us rudely. We have meet other delightful members of this well established family and this mans behavior is completely uncalled for and there is no...

Anita's has finally moved to their beautiful new location. This is a local favorite and a place we visit frequently. Very pleased with the new location even though it is further from home in South Oceanside and area that is growing by leaps and bounds with wonderful new restaurants, small shops and coffee houses. I love this place so I will give them a little more time to work out the rough edges. They are struggling a little with trying to get help, the kitchen staff needs to stabilize. Working out the kinks is difficult even for a place that has been in business for years. Turnover in the restaurant business is a big problem currently from fast food all the way up the food chain. A few friends have complained that they increased prices but $10.95 is still a bargain for a large plate of sour cream chicken enchiladas, beans, rice, tortilla's and salsa, my favorite. With the expense of relocating a small price increase is certainly understandable. Wait staff is great and apologetic. We love you, Anita's and we will keep coming back until you are back to your five star rating. We love to support local, family owned businesses. Be sure to have...

Upon entering the establishment at the last moment, alongside my closest acquaintances, I maintained a sense of neutrality regarding what to expect from the experience. To my pleasant surprise, what unfolded was far beyond my initial assumptions. I discovered not just a meal, but a new benchmark for what I consider exceptional food. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the service we received was exemplary. The staff was remarkably attentive, ensuring that our needs were met with promptness and a genuine eagerness to enhance our dining experience.

The authenticity of the food was truly noteworthy; it evoked cherished memories of home-cooked meals from my childhood and made me feel a deep sense of nostalgia. Each dish was prepared with a level of care and skill that reflected a true understanding of culinary traditions. As a result of this delightful experience, I felt compelled to share my positive impressions. I wholeheartedly recommend this fine establishment to all my friends and family, confident that they too will appreciate the quality of food and service that I encountered. It has undeniably set a new standard for my future dining...

I came here as a party of 12 (big family) and was seated within 30 minutes despite the dinner rush (6 pm on a Saturday). We were greeted with chips and salsa at the table, which carried a hint of spice, but was still enjoyable for the kids. I ordered the Cadillac Margarita, and my wife had the Anta's Spicy Margarita, both of which were quite enjoyable (the spicy margarita certainly lives up to it's name). I had the Fajitas, and with choices of chicken, New York Steak, or grilled shrimp (you can mix for a fee) I opted for a mix of steak and shrimp. The food, drinks, and staff were all exceptional. What truly made this place stand out to me was the diversity of selection. Going out to enjoy a meal as a parent can sometimes be a challenge as children are about as opinionated and vocal about their choice of food as Gordon Ramsey, so the addition of chicken nuggets to the menu makes for a slightly less stressful experience for multi-age families.

We can here for dinner while visiting from out of town. My wife and I really wanted Mexican food and we were glad our kids could get cheeseburgers. We figured that being so close to the border it’d be really good. It was just ok. The chips tasted store bought. The salsa was good with a nice kick. My wife got the chicken flautas and was really disappointed. She asked if they had cheese inside, was told yes, but turns out there wasn’t. She said they were dry and bland. We tried the fish tacos and the fish tasted like old oil and the sauce just tasted like plain mayo. I had the chicken mole. The sauce was good but the chicken was very dry and really needed the sauce to choke it down. The service was only ok. She never filled our drinks. I think they were understaffed. It also took a long time to get our check. Atmosphere was great. We sat outside and really enjoyed it. Needless to say I won’t be coming back.

Went here a few weeks ago with some friends. That was my 1st time at this location. The chips and salsa was so good, we really enjoyed it. I got shrimp fajitas and they were so hot and fresh, they were amazing and very flavorful! Also, the margarita house drinks were tasty and they were not skimpy on the alcohol. The service was great, we were checked in on multiple times by the waiter and well attended to. However, It was a bit in the loud side indoors. I recommend sitting outside for a quieter experience. To be fair, we went on a Friday night, which you would expect to be louder. I would definitely go back here for more shrimp fajitas! Thank you Anita’s!
