We absolutely have loved Anita's and had considered it our go to spot. We always sit at the bar and talk to the locals and the great bartenders, Travis and Blanca. The Margaritas are awesome and they have a nice tequila selection. That is until the last time we went in and my husband asked the unfamiliar gentleman behind the bar for the Tequila menu that he likes to chose a sipping tequila from. The gentleman asked if my husband wanted to sample a Blanco tequila that was his choice and gave my husband a shot and then told him next he wanted to give him a sample of the reposado tequila. We found seats at the bar and ordered dinner and surprised a young military couple we were chatting with by buying their dinner as well. My husband asked the bartender, Blanca, to ask the gentleman if he could sample the recommended Reposado tequilla now. Well long story short the man came over and was extremely loud and angry and gave my husband the tequila and then loudly proclaimed "here and I forgot to add the first to your bill" -It was unnecessary, surprising, shocking and extremely rude. We spend a good amount of money at this establishment regularly and have never been treated rudely. Shocked we paid the bill and left as the staff also looked shocked and let us know that this was an owner! Disgusting treatment of your customers who will not be back. He presented as rude, full of himself and disrespectful. We asked him for absolutely nothing, he offered and then embarrassed us rudely. We have meet other delightful members of this well established family and this mans behavior is completely uncalled for and there is no...
Read moreAnita's has finally moved to their beautiful new location. This is a local favorite and a place we visit frequently. Very pleased with the new location even though it is further from home in South Oceanside and area that is growing by leaps and bounds with wonderful new restaurants, small shops and coffee houses. I love this place so I will give them a little more time to work out the rough edges. They are struggling a little with trying to get help, the kitchen staff needs to stabilize. Working out the kinks is difficult even for a place that has been in business for years. Turnover in the restaurant business is a big problem currently from fast food all the way up the food chain. A few friends have complained that they increased prices but $10.95 is still a bargain for a large plate of sour cream chicken enchiladas, beans, rice, tortilla's and salsa, my favorite. With the expense of relocating a small price increase is certainly understandable. Wait staff is great and apologetic. We love you, Anita's and we will keep coming back until you are back to your five star rating. We love to support local, family owned businesses. Be sure to have...
