Beach Hut Deli — Restaurant in Oceanside

My buddy and I sell steak, chicken and seafood off a truck across southern California, Nevada and Arizona, along the way we hit every dive bar, greasy spoon and habadashery we can find; I enjoy sharing them with you. I lucked out and scored a free parking spot directly across Cleveland St which was nice because finding a decent parking spot downtown can be hit or miss. There is a free parking garage one block south of Cleveland at 290 Seagaze drive if you are planning on grabbing a lunch, and the Beach Hut Deli is the absolute bomb. This was actually my third time eating here and the sandwiches are always amazing. I was craving a hot pastrami sandwich one day and when I searched google for one this joint popped up. I was beyond thrilled with what I got. This time around I was looking for a ruben and this was the first place checked, I din't need to google it, the browser in my brain went right there based on my previous sandwich. The place has a relaxed, laid back vibe with surfing vids and sports on the TV's and alt rock playing. The staff was fun, funny and cheerful as hell, how refreshing is that? Food service and dealing with the public is HARD work it speaks well of the owner/manager when the front line crew are well hired, trained and compensated so hats off to them for that. As I walked thru Oceanside and marveled at the changes from a laid-back and town home feel. Yoshi and I wandered into this most gracious and am filled with so much gratitude 🙏 that this wonderful deli not only use the rest room prior to me ordering but gave my service dog a bowl of water and some chicken while I ate my lunch....I wish I could remember their names but they were AWESOME and the Sandwiches were the BOMB!!! So much so I hope those that read this ARE encouraged to come here and have the abundant food they create but also the kambucha they offer...THIS a a true gem that everyone should try b4 leaving Oceanside as they showed the heart ❤️ as I remembered when I was growing up...sure there are tall buildings with many more people but the spirit of Oceanside resides here!!! And if you are on the USMC Camp Pendelton marine. This is a GREAT Place to tryout!!! SEMPER FI!!! By the way, I had the"Surfin Cow"...Fresh, super sized hot sandwich that is now my #1 favorite. Our first Beach Hut Deli sandwich was from their location in Tigard, Oregon. The sandwiches are large, creative and full of flavor. This was our first visit to the Oceanside location. We called the order in and it was ready for pick-up within 15 minutes. Since they did not list prices online I did not know what to expect at checkout. I must say I was a bit shocked to learn the 9 inch Surfin' Bird was almost $15 and the 12 inch North Shore rang the register at almost $18. In the words of Cheap Pete "Good Lord, that's a lot of money". Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches are good but at this price we should be feeling flush, need a smoke and ready for a nap. If price is no object, the Beach Hut Deli is your place for world class sandwiches. If you have a little Cheap Pete in you, this might cause you a little pain at the register. Either way, you will enjoy the sandwich. BTW - the cream cheese is fantastic with turkey, bacon, avocado and fixings. I give them a 5 for flavor and a 3 for price which...
