Such a cute little place! I used to come here regularly long time ago but since COVID19, I hadn't visited. I ordered the ice blended mocha which is like a mocha frappuccino and honestly, it had such a bold flavour but not in a bad way like how coffee sometimes leaves a bad aftertaste. It was bold but with no nasty aftertaste which had me actually surprised. It also had a little mocha drizzle which i thought was so cute, it made it look expensive🤭 I got it without whip though cuz it's heavy cream whip(personal preference). Also I was a little bit nervous because my friend, who was on a Keto diet, went with me and she was able to order something too, so that was nice. Sorry, I didn't ask her what she got😅 But definitely a cozy little spot and nice location. Only downside is that it's very close to an Amtrak railroad which occasionally passes by but i was too busy having a good time to think anything of it. Walking distance from the pier, hence the name. The parking is pretty close but since this part of town can get busy over the weekend it might be easier to find parking during the week. 2 hour parking is located directly in front of the building on both sides of the road. The employees also, super friendly, pleasant people. Overall, a great experience even through Corona season, so I definitely will be visiting again. Update: The smoothies are overpriced and i dont just say that lightly. A customised drink at Starbucks could be upcharged from 4.95- 8.95 but to sell a drink that only comes in one size at a solid $9+ makes no sense to me. And the blended drinks dont have espresso in them even though theres a latte blended beverage. Theyre still...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Pier View Coffee Company for 2 years now. Ever since I’ve moved to Oceanside CA, I’ve been scouting out nearby cafés that will allow me to just relax, do some online work, get some coffee and a snack and there's even ice-cream for when I want a sweet-treat.
Pier View Coffee Company appears to be a town favorite. I see many local patrons here frequently. Most customers are enjoying one of their various tasty pastries, sipping on some coffee or tea and surfing online or even reading one of the books that are provided in the free collection provided.
The decor is truly unique and is filled with antique Oceanside trademark surfboards and wall murals. The huge black & white photo-art gives so much character.
The bathroom is clean; probably one of the cleanest in the downtown area and that's because they have a key-lock on it and it is regularly maintained by staff.
Their prices are reasonable and the service is fantastic too.
I like to get a LIQUID LUNCH smoothie for extra protein and a filling treat. I love their breakfast paninis; try the O'Sider.
There’s a nice view of a busy intersection, which is perfect for people-watching. But the only quirk to being located on a busy street corner is that it can occasionally get noisy and distracting (may not be the best place to study).
Overall, Pier View Coffee Company is a great little spot to relax and...
Read moreWhat a disaster. There was a line of five people outside the bathroom at Pierview Coffee. Everyone was knocking and waiting, thinking maybe someone was just taking forever. Turns out the manager was in there — not only “cleaning,” but clearly on their phone, because we could all hear the conversation through the door.
No sign, no explanation, no courtesy. Just a bunch of paying customers left standing around confused and frustrated. It dragged on so long that someone in line actually had an accident. That should never, ever happen at any business, let alone one that serves food and coffee.
And if that wasn’t enough, the manager finally came out and actually had the audacity to complain about us knocking — then even got into an argument with one of the people who had been waiting! Completely unprofessional, rude, and embarrassing for everyone there.
Pierview Coffee should be ashamed. The manager’s behavior shows a total lack of respect for customers and basic professionalism. I won’t be coming back, and I’d warn others to think twice before spending...
