Badger Burger Company Oconomowoc — Restaurant in Oconomowoc

I went to Badger Burger Company with a friend and we ordered the Margarita Pizza for $25. It tasted as if someone sliced some mozzarella and unripe tomatoes, threw it on a cracker and put it in the microwave, dousing it with too much cheap olive oil. Our waitress didn't check on us after serving the pizza, and we finally flagged a different waitress down to get her after about 20 minutes of sitting there not eating. I think she only had 2 other tables and the restaurant was not busy at the time, but she was MIA anytime we needed anything. We each took a couple of bites of the pizza, sent it back and ordered cheeseburgers. The burgers were good and so were the fries. When the bill came, the pizza was still listed as as charge to us. I showed the waitress that she forgot to take off the pizza, because I figured she just forgot, and she said "no, that's why I gave you a $10 coupon" in an argumentative tone. The pizza was $25 and we didn't eat any of it. I told her we're not paying for the pizza, that it was disgusting; and as I was in the middle of talking she grabbed the bill off the table, mumbled something under her breath, stomped off, rolled her eyes, and then brought back the bill with the pizza taken off. She was completely rude, inattentive, and behaved in an incredibly childish manner. If someone takes one bite of their food and it's not good, you comp it. I know what Margarita pizza tastes like and this version was gross. However, the service was even worse. I didn't expect to be treated so poorly and ignored most of the time. I can understand if you're busy, but this was incompetence or just plain apathy. I would have given one star but the burgers were good, so I bumped it up to 2. Terrible service from...

Seemed to be only one server at about 130 on a Thursday afternoon. Took our drink order. When she brought our sodas we ordered lunch. Lunch came and we didn’t see her again (could have used some more napkins for the messy burger) until I flagged her down to advise her what I saw her cook do. I saw him at the opening from the kitchen where the prepared food gets put up for serving. I watched him eating, I assume right over a prep area as he was watching the tv in the dining area. I watched because I thought it was an odd place for him to be eating. I am not sure what he was eating but it was bite sized food that he was eating with his fingers. When he finished he licked his index finger and thumb and then his entire thumb again and immediately turned around where I believe the grill may be or maybe another prep area. I told the owner who was our server and she chuckled and said she would talk to him. Maybe she did maybe she didn’t, but she came back and said she talked to him. She said she doesn’t know if he washed his hands or not. She said that there is a sink in that corner. He absolutely did not wash his hands. I watched him. He turned around immediately. He did not use the sink that’s apparently in that corner. I told her she can take my plate as I had lost my appetite. This again seemed to be funny to her as she said sorry and chuckled. Bad service, which happens a lot these days, is one thing, but, this is disgusting. We came twice. The first time was outstanding but we didn't try the burgers. Wife and I had pizza and a chicken BLT. The food was outstanding and Shelly our server was attentive and pleasant. I asked about their Monday Burger night. She invited us back to try their gourmet burgers. The second time we came upon a young and unpleasant hostess that seemed bothered by us. It was a Monday evening and we brought our boys in for dinner. Our waiter was a young man. He took our order for four well done gourmet burgers. After a long wait we saw our burgers were done and waiting to be delivered to our table. Eventually we saw Aaron the bartender put them on a serving tray. After a few minutes longer I told our waiter to grab our burgers. This delay was huge as our fries weren't warm and fresh anymore. First bites of our gourmet burgers were amazing. Exactly what we wanted! Each was unique and delicious! We did however find that none of our four burgers were well done. One in fact was barely cooked inside and was eventually removed from our bill.. I am a good Tipper and server can get 30% down to 15% for just average service. My bill was $35 for the four us us after the uncooked burger was removed. I didn't have change and neither did our waiter so he ended up with a $10 tip. That's generous considering how poor our service was on the second trip. We will be back for the food but BBC needs to step it up in the customer service area.
