Rude people, and poor treatment Response to your comments: copying and pasting the same response doesn't apply to different reviews but you do you. I am going to explain my review: The first time I went over, I was invited by some friends. The place was empty with the exception of my group of friends. As I arrived, the person on the counter told me to ask my friends not to move the chairs because that scratches the floor. When I say down, I could see a lady from the kitchen constantly watching over us like we were thieves or something like that. I was feeling very uncomfortable. Then you complained about the kids moving around and us talking too loudly (again, the place was empty, no other costumers there). And when one of the kids dropped something by accident, all of you came out in a very threatening mood. I left because I wasn't feeling welcomed. I only came back a year after that incident to thinking that it could have just been an isolated incident. But I was so wrong. As I arrived and again the place had no other costumers other than our group, you were complaining about us talking too loudly and the kids moving around! One of my friends asked the lady if y'all had any problems with us and if that was the case we would go and never came back and her answer was "yes, please don't come back" (I heard that very clearly) I will never come back, I am not sure what your problem with us was, but I don't go to any place I don't feel welcomed. Definitely not kids or family friendly. Enjoy your...
Read moreI don't ever post reviews, but I felt I needed to defend cafe de luna a little bit from a couple of rage reviews.
The workers here are always always so sweet, and they don't discriminate. Especially their manager, after a few small talks, you can immediately realize how open-minded and sweet she is... This cafe is a haven away from corporate chain coffee shops/restaurants and actually care about the stuff they put out. They even support other local businesses at their store!
I believe it was about 8 months back, when a group of about 20 people took up almost the whole cafe, and from what I remember asking about them the next day, without prior notice. They were all very, very loud, I had music blasting in my airpods and still found the group to be overwhelmingly loud. Most likely, because they were such a large group that even they had to talk over other people. And the Lady that worked there that day did her best to ask the group to keep it down, and it was obvious they expected to be treated like they owned the cafe. It was just that one man who had a problem being told to be quieter because they're disturbing other customers. Even his friends apologized in his stead after the problematic man left.
Most people tend to leave rage reviews much easier, much quicker than leaving a pleasant visit reviews. Which is a shame. Give them a chance. This cafe has great people, great coffee, great food, and even fun little board games for chilling with...
Read moreWe used to love this place to meet with friends and have a chat over a coffee. The ambient was nice altough coffee was so-so. there are some things I don't like. First of all, they are not family friendly even when they are empty, they don't seem to like when my group is larger than they expected, even though they make money since we order more stuff. In generalI, service is not that great specially from the woman behind the counter. I don't like that they have a surcharge on DEBIT cards, which is ILLEGAL in Texas. I don't like that they sell "homemade lemonade" that is clearly not homemade but a cheap lemonade from the supermarket. Overall....not coming back...there are much better coffee shops in Odessa. Regarding owners response: We never had a problem with anybody other than this xenophobic lady. Most of the times the place was empty. You don't take pictures of my kids without my consent and NO we were not the ones threatening, it was this "Karen" owner who was confrontational from the beginning. Anyways, we moved on and glad we did from that crazy lady and her attitude. I can see from other opinions people is starting to...
