Classic Bakery — Restaurant in Ohio

Update: This is an update to my review i left 6 years ago. Classic bakery has been my go to place for getting a cake. I get one for all my birthday celebrations. Sept 23, 2022 i called wanting to have a pick up the next day. they were able to do that. i asked if they can do something chucky themed but they can only do prints. i didnt want that. My daughters loves scary movies and we were going to kennywood for fear fest. Well so i thought to myself what can i do instead and asked the employee if they can shape the shape into a headstone and she said yes. i wanted it to be grey . i tried telling her i would like vines growing over it and she couldnt undestand what i meant like she never seen one before. she kept saying how can we do thad if its on the ground. i asked for black flowers to be added and the happy birthday to be written in black. when i got there it was a mess. the cake was purple. the worker tried telling me if they adding more black it would be to dark. well white plus black doesnt give purple. and the cake was not in a shape of a headstone in fact a headstone was drawn on the cake. a weird boarder was added and green leaves were added to the black flowers. And when i asked to be discounted because this was not what i ordered and i offered to play the phonecall because i record all of them for personal reasons. i was told they can scrap it all off and shape it or i can just take it. but the cake still wouldnt be grey though right? so whats the point of having a purple headstone. long story short i wont be going back! The night ending in horror for my 8 year old. Ordered a Birthday cake for my daughter and it was amazing! Ordered one day before and was ready at the, time of pick up. Also their pastries are...

NEVER AGAIN! We ordered 5 dozen cutout cookies for a baby shower almost 2 weeks before the shower. Nothing crazy - it was a berry theme, so we asked for strawberries and onesies. They did not have a strawberry cookie cutter, but they said if we found one, they would use it. We just had to have it to them at least 2 days before the order was to be picked up. I found one, and my daughter dropped it off the Thursday before the Sunday pick up, since they are closed Monday - Wednesday. Nothing seemed off; they took the cookie cutter without mentioning any potential issues. On Saturday at 2:50 pm - less than 24 hours before they 9:00 am Sunday pick-up - they called my daughter and left a message that the strawberry cookie cutter wasn’t working out. No problem. My daughter called them back and asked if they could do a different shape instead. They changed their story a couple more times and finally said they were unable to fulfill the order at all. My daughter asked if we could just get some of the flower cut out cookies they always have in their display case, but was told that, since it was the holiday weekend (July 4th), they only had red, white and blue icing. We didn’t order anything out of the ordinary. 5 dozen iced sugar cookies was not an exotic request. It was extremely ignorant and unprofessional to cancel on us with essentially no notice. To not even offer an alternative was ridiculous! I will not go back and would advise anyone looking to plan for an event to find another vendor. Came there for years, new faces each time waiting on you and they get rudder each time you walk in. Ordered a cake they didn't even decorate it how I wanted it did it how they wanted to, ordered brownies and cupcakes dry when called to complain the "manager " which is the owners daughter and granddaughter says well ill pass it along to the baker if u have that product left bring it in I'll replace it right ok took 2 days to get ahold of someone due you being closed then placed on hold and no one coming to the phone, not sure how you people live but I definitely don't keep trash laying around my house it's thrown out, got receipt and all and everyone who was invited to party experienced the stale food. I've given this place to many chances high prices low product quality anymore. I'm officially done. That's how you conduct business and to a customer not to even offer a credit sure let me go to ohio waste and go find my trash insane. Classic bakery on what grounds do you get from a review and accusing anyone of verbal abuse or threatening manner? You have no idea whom you are speaking to in such a manner and tone like that I will make sure that each one of my family friends and co workers know how u just conducted yourself. Who can be anymore verbally abusive then your staff member grace, the little bit of staff that u do have left being that u people are hard to work for, same treatment i get when i and others come in there so "manager" u are not law enforcement stop acting like it, you box up cakes, there now u can say im verbally abusive.
