I'm extremely picky about my BBQ but let me just tell you how amazing this place is, soon as you walk in you're met with a big welcome from the whole team (makes me smile everytime) the smiles on everyone's faces never seen to run short and the laid back yet professional demeanor makes you feel like you're at a family BBQ just at a restaurant lol. The food is always cooked just right and served with a quickness and anything they can do to make sure your experience is absolutely stellar they are willing to oblige. I recently got married and had it for catered through Mission and Christine was such a great host, our consultation couldn't have been more perfect as far as her knowledge of all the food and pricing and answering questions you didn't think you needed answers to haha (Thank you Christine) the delivery of the food for the day was exactly on point the 2 ladies Christen Nutt and Ashlynn Baker were extremely courteous very professional and very timely as far as getting everything set up. All in all this is an absolutely amazing place that me, my wife and son frequently visit and for the price you really can't beat it especially in this economy. I give this place a 10/5 because even though the service of great and the food is amazing they also heavily celebrate all of our service members and I think that is so great, not only do they make great food but they bring people together to help honor all of our heroes past and present and that to me is a rare gift these days. Highly recommend this place and sorry for the terribly long review and even though this is for the Niles mission BBQ they're all the same no matter...
Read moreAverage is being kind to this place, mind you I only had the brisket sandwich and peach cobbler. I think you should be able to get one or two items and base a pretty solid review on those two items. Some would say that simply isn’t enough data to base an honest opinion and while that does make sense to me I wouldn’t necessarily agree, that being said this place was pretty average and nothing really made it stand out to me. I had the beef brisket sandwich(lean as opposed to wet), it was dry which is how I wanted but it was so dry and I feel like an excessive amount of smoke was used in the cooking process which made it look awesome but it did make the flavor weird. The brisket tasted nearly identical to beef jerky and not a very good one either, like a very chemical/carcinogenic taste. I should’ve gotten the pulled pork(I’ve had people tell me how good it was), no Cole slaw just meat on a bun. Sauce on the side, at pick up they ask what sauce you like and they gave me one of each(sweet vs. spicy) and I should say the sauces were average at best, no napkins, no fork, no nothing I guess you gotta get it yourself which I did but for $18 the bag of food I got looked pathetic. The peach cobbler was a diabetic nightmare, sugary as fu*%!, just a blob of sugary dough and peach chunks. Over all very unimpressive experience(much like most restaurants in the valley), I would’ve rather had gone anywhere else. Cockeye bbq in Warren so far has the top spot in my limited view. This just makes me appreciate & miss Shrivers BBQ in broward county Florida. Now that’s actual bbq.
I included a shot of the peach globbler as I...
Read moreMission BBQ I feel like they will get better maybe. The best thing on their menu by landslide is their Mac N Cheese you can’t leave from there without having it. Actually every side that I had was excellent green beans, baked beans, and fries. But that being said the side dishes really out shine everything else for me. The Smoke Salmon had to be the driest piece of fish I have tasted in years. The BBQ Pulled chicken sandwich was good which I was forced into trying if I wanted something to eat. Which leads me into the biggest problem about Mission BBQ. The lack of communication between the kitchen, front counter, and front door person could not have been more horrible. First trip, I stood outside for 40 mins because of the limited people they let in because of Covid. Finally get to the counter they don’t have any (ribs, chicken pieces, or salmon). This is something that could have easily been avoided with communication. I got the next day and the person managing the amount of people coming in tells me to whole on and then never comes back to the door. There were at least 20 people standing outside waiting. A part of rating a restaurant is the experience along with the food and this place fell way short of a good experience. Extremely poor communication. 3 stars is...
