Came in for a take out around 5:30am on 7/19/24. No one said hello. They had one table of 4 people. That’s it. Not only was it uninviting but there were dirty plates and coffee cups still on the counter. She was getting ice when the girl cooking called out that the food was ready … for the only table there. The cook had to say a second time the food was ready for her to finally come out and grab their breakfast. This is the waitress with the long blonde hair in two braids and a frog plushie pinned on top of her head 🤦♀️ anyway, after standing there for 5 minutes at least she finally decided to pay attention to me. (still not a word but put her pad down waiting for me to order) I gave my order and had a coupon for free hash browns. I show her my phone. She says nothing. I ask if she sees the coupon and she says “I don’t know what that is, I’ll just give it to you.” Wow!? she actually speaks. I immediately pay, (was even going to leave her a tip as I myself have been a server for the overnight shift at Waffle House in the past - but even I have my limits) but before the bill is even printed she tells me, rudely of course… but why would I expect anything less at this point, that I can no longer sit at the counter and need to wait along the back windows for my order. I felt like some second-class citizen by how poorly she treated me the entire visit and sadly will not be returning. It’s a shame because the food was really tasty. Poor girl, her neck was probably hurting from wearing a stuffed animal on her head for 10 hours and she couldn’t help but be grumpy. So grumpy she forget she’s...

It's waffle house and runs so smoothly normally. Who's idea was this? We watched so many people walk out. Instead of her standing there walking back and forth clicking her pen waiting for the servers to clean the counter or table, she should have utilized her time and helped wipe things. There's nothing like paying someone to do nothing, basically. I'm highly disappointed this time. And we love waffle houses. The pumpkin spice waffle... don't bother. It doesn't cook right in the iron and takes too long. It wasn't all that great anyway. Stick with what you like and know is good. I didn't see any of the normal crew. Maybe 2 of them were. This seemed to all change after corporate was there a few weeks ago. Bad choices. This made the whole experience frustrating and uncomfortable. I'm sure I'm not alone after seeing all the people walk out and other patrons give some side eye about the new position. I'm not even sure what the position would be called, and I questioned our server about the new position, and she had no idea this was even happening or who she was.
Next time at Waffle House, ask for Renee's table. Very pleasant. Was packed this time, so we didn't get her as our server. Place is like a well...
Read moreI LOVE the food at Waffle House, but my last experience at this Niles Cortland Rd location wasn't what I expect when dining out. The server we had was a guy named Will. I don't go out to eat with someone for my server to initiate and monopolize conversation before or especially after serving us our meal. I'm not here to make friends or enemies, argue with my server about politics, or talk about his favorite movies. I'm here to enjoy my food with the person I came here with. I've been a server and it's just unprofessional, unwanted behavior. He liked to ask questions about political hot topics and then no matter our answer say "Well, actually..." and go on to explain why we're wrong. I don't care to discuss anything with strangers in the first place. I just want to place my order, thank my server for bringing it to me correctly and with a smile, enjoy my food in peace, and tip the customary 20%. If Will is working the next time I come to Waffle House, I'm going back home, because it was that unpleasant. We even took half of our food home instead of finishing in the diner because Will wouldn't quit talking to us. I hope the night shift isn't his regular shift because if he's always there I'm switching locations. Pro: Delicious...
