I often wonder about 5 star reviews I guess one man’s trash is truly another’s treasure? The staff is friendly. The front of the house looks clean. The food was just bad. Low quality C- or D quality like you would find at cheap all you can eat buffet: BUT for B+ quality price. We had 4 for lunch. Scallion pancakes greasy and not even hot. Fried and steamed dumplings Sams has better 7 days a week. Those were just the appetizers. Hot pot combination something funky in that. She could not take a second bite. Orange chicken Blah! Dry chicken pre breaded nuggets no flavor. I thought a real chef wouldn’t just pour a food service sauce on ORANGE chicken? Mongolian beef 90% sautéed red onion 10% cheap beef cut. I ordered some type of spicy chicken. Over breaded and over cooked the remnants of what was probably a chicken thigh originally? Even the rice was like what a 1950’s housewife thought Chinese rice should be?? The fried rice option for $2 more consist of them pouring soy sauce over the rice and maybe putting it on the flat top? $120 later and all I wanted was for my 16 year old granddaughter to have a real culinary experience for her birthday. So while I don’t like to destroy good people trying hard to please a fickle public. I equally don’t like places serving Meh food and then leaving a dish they knew was not good on the table like maybe she wanted to take it home? Of course the charge for the funky dish was on the check. If you go to eat here? You go forewarned by a consumer who still expects to get quality when we are charged for...
Read moreThe service was fine because I ordered takeout and it was ready when I arrived. The place looks pretty lifeless and like they jammed many tables close together.
However, now on to the real review. THE FOOD WAS AND IS HORRIBLE. Worst Chinese food I have ever had and somehow they made my eggdrop soup taste like nothing and smell like AGAR, if you know anything about culturing microbiology. All the food had almost no flavor, my orange chicken straight up tasted like orange husk and thats it, no savory or any other notes. All the other food was so bland. I couldn't point out any flavor notes either, everything tasted so water down. Even the Lo Mein and the Sesame chicken were so bland. This makes me so upset because I spend 80$ here and was hoping for good food. The food was not worth the price. The only thing I would order again would be the soup dumplings(but they were so small) and the veggie fried rice. I ordered here because it was closer than my favorite place, only 10 minutes away. HOWEVER, I would rather make the 1hour round trip to Happy Garden because the food is bomb and its...
Read moreFor the longest time I wanted to eat Szechuan food, I have heard so much about it and let me tell you it was so much better of what I imagined it would be.
The pork dumplings were exquisite they might be the best ones I’ve had try in okc area and that chili oil was just fantastic, (I’m not the greatest at eating spicy but this was so delicious that it was worth the pain, a delicious pain I would say). I always wanted to eat steamed chicken and that day was the day, I think this dish is a must try, so refreshing so tasty and again that chili sauce, just perfection.
My main dish was the stewed beef, I think the flavors profile in this dish is what Szechuan food is about, so fragrant almost perfuming, spicy but a different kind of spicy, at least for what I’m used to, for sure a plate for the senses.
The service was really good, attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. I was very happy for this place.
We are pretty lucky to have such amazing diversity of restaurants in okc metro area don’t take it for granted and go try them, enjoy them and let me know how...
