I called several hours before we were to arrive. I wanted to verify that they would be open and serving food by the time we got there. I was told "yes we will be open until after midnight tonight for the new year." Excellent.
We arrived and we waited for the rest of our party on the patio. The fire is purely for show as it provides nothing in the way of heating. My boyfriend went in to order drinks and an appetizer for us. 9:45 I caught the attention of the server on the patio to ask about the menu and how I can order some food. He guided me to the menu and said he'd be back shortly. He never came back. We got too cold and went into the bar proper and I asked another server about ordering food only to be told that the kitchen had closed, less than 3 minutes prior. At no point (the call hours ago, arriving at 9:30, talking to a server at 9:45) did anyone inform me the kitchen was closing at 10. That's annoying but whatever we will just try to find somewhere else.
Our drinks are delivered by 10:10, busy night that's fine but we have decided to leave so we try to find our server to cash out and cancel the appetizers, if we won't get to have a meal why have appetizers? Well we speak to the waiter and tell her we want to cancel the other items and tab out. We are near where she's been coming and going and she walks away tabbing out several customers. We wait for a good ten minutes. During this time the bar tender pushes past us saying "get out of the way". First there's no where else to really wait it's standing room only, second walk around us it would have taken 0.5 seconds to move around us instead, or we could have been asked and we would have moved no complaints. The next time he comes by I suppose he let the intrusive thoughts win as he put his arm on the back of my boyfriends neck and pushes him yelling "MOVE".
I'm furious, livid, there's no excuse to touch us. I am very sorry it's busy. I'm sorry you can't control your emotions or manage your stress. But do not touch us. A lesser man would have beat the breaks off this guy for such inappropriate, unprofessional, and frankly out of line behavior. Instead I found his manager whose only response about his employee paying hands on a guest was "I'm sorry but you don't seem like you want to be here" like what do you mean? Of course we don't that's why we have been trying for 15m to leave.
In fairness to the establishment the manager did comp our drinks, which I am grateful for. The drinks were good though the patio was freezing it did have...
Read moreVery disappointed with the lack of professionalism, misinformation, and seemingly DISCRIMINATIVE experience I encountered at OBar this weekend. I called days ahead to inform them that I had a party of 10-12 people and that we would be coming to celebrate my birthday. An employee named "Carolyn" told me that technically they can't take reservations for a section but said that she would take my name down, and let them know to expect me at the time I requested. Carolyn informed me that it wouldn't be an issue as they accommodate parties of that size regularly. I called again the day of as soon as they opened, spoke with another employee whom confirmed that it wouldn't be an issue we may just have to wait a few minutes before entering. When the time came, my boyfriend & I arrived went into the bar, and I let the doorman know the remainder of my party would be coming shortly. When my predominantly ethnic group came, they said they were no longer letting anyone in. I asked if they were just waiting for guest to leave the bar before they were letting anyone else in - the doorman then said "No" and that "I was instructed to not let anyone else in" This was extremely upsetting as I took the proper steps in making sure all my guest would be welcomed @ OBar for my 25th celebration, but that turned out to not be the case. My boyfriend and I used to visit this bar frequently but I will be spending my money elsewhere and suggesting that others do the same - especially...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend decided to stop in Oklahoma to have a bite before we continued our road trip, and we found this rooftop bar that looked amazing and we said to give it a try. We got there, the bartender pretended to be busy while we tried to ask him if we sit ourselves or are the outside tables reserved. Once we sat down, our server came to the table and took our drink order, but when asked about the food items the answer was vague. Once I got my glass of wine I noticed the rim of it was very dirty. Not seeing the server around, I went inside and asked the bartender to change the glass, which he did. After I sat back at the table I noticed my new wine glass had pieces of hair in it... not very nice. After ordering food, once I opened the roll-up I noticed the silverware was very dirty and not polished, which made me think about how clean is everything. The food came, had steak fries, not impressed and the fries were barely cooked with a few truffles shaved on top. The server came to check on our food when we were almost done, and considering it was a pitstop before hitting the road again, we let it slide. The view of the city was exceptional, but that was it. If you're interested in wasting your money, go here, otherwise, I would suggest avoiding it...
