I've had 2 bad kiosk experiences in my last 2 Taco Bell visits. The first time, I walked out. This time, I toughed it out and spent a lot of extra time clicking through needless menus. What I wanted was a #3 combo, but had to wade through maybe 8 or 9 needless screens before I could place the order. This was NOT a time-saver.
Among the needless kiosk menu items were choice and number of sauces, which I had to grab anyway, and my choice of drink, which I also had to fill myself. There were a few more menus with options I didn't need, I assume trying to upsell me. That's fine, but give me the option to choose those menus, not make me read them to see if there's something pertinent to my order (which there wasn't in every case.) Placing/paying-for the order apparently required an additional screen, too.
Next, there was no option for a printed receipt. Only email or text - and Taco Bell does not need my personal info - or not receipt at all. Since I paid with a card (there was no cash option) I wanted a receipt. So now I have to get someone at the counter who doesn't want to deal with customers (per the 'order at kiosk' sign at the counter.) He was unable to provide a printed receipt. He couldn't find my order at all. I pointed out that had I been able to order at the counter in the first place, it would have saved both of us a lot of time.
I estimate that my 4-5 minutes of kiosk and receipt-request time would have been accomplished in about 30 seconds at the counter. Is 4 or 5 minutes for one customer a long time? Ask a district manager who's concerned about efficiency! I also had to ask for my drink cup after the bag was placed on the counter. Not a big deal, but not a result of streamlining.
I love the food, but I will not tolerate spending extra time to get it. Making it faster for the customer is a great idea, except the kiosks do NOT accomplish that, and today it took up a few minutes of the employee's time as well. Again, this should have been a 30-second MAX transaction. Next time I go to a Taco Bell with kiosk-only ordering, I will walk out. It probably won't be long before I...
Read moreI went to a school down the road for 7 years (Middle and High School), and since this was on the way home right next to the highway, it was the most convenient Taco Bell to go to. But, let me tall you, the location sucks, the food sucks, everything about this Taco Bell....sucks. There's a homeless shelter a couple of blocks away, so hobos frequent this establishment. I have been peddled by some while near the drive thru window. Don't get me wrong, it's safe, but I'd prefer not to eat my taco next to a guy who hasn't bathed in a week. The staff usually doesn't look like they care, and they can frequently be seen hanging out in the parking lot, talking. The food, st times, can be next to rancid in quality. Almost every time I went there, there was something new to complain about with my order....putting ice in my drink even though I specifically asked for none, onions in my burritos even though there's not supposed to be any onions in them, extremely undercooked quesadilla with unmelted cheese in the middle and a disgusting about of the zesty sauce, chalupas that look like they have been soaked in grease and then burned to a crisp, mexican pizzas that are loaded up on meat and have next to zero ingredients on the top, improperly mixed drinks that taste like carbonated water.....the list goes on and on. I almost gave up on Taco Bell entirely before going to another location. It's just gotten worse and worse throughout the years, and the employees that I have grown to know have been eliminated and replaced by "I don't care" employees.
Bottom Line: I would avoid this Taco Bell at all costs and take an extra 5 minutes to go to one a few blocks away. It's just not worth it. If you MUST go here, then I would suggest ordering the two things that they can't screw up: tacos and water. The tomatoes might be a bit soggy, but at least it will be still edible by...
Read moreMe and my friend stopped by after a concert around 11:30 to grab some food. We waited 30 minutes in the drive through for our order. We had two separate orders. She handed us one bag and both of our drinks. We then realized after driving off that only my order was in the bag. We then tried to call them because we did not want to wait in the 30 minute line again. No answer. We get back in the line and wait another 30 minutes. When we get to the ordering section we politely said that they had forgotten to give us 1 of our orders. (We know it’s a busy stressful night) We were met with a rude attitude telling us to pull up. We wait another 15 to get to the window. As soon as she opens the window before we have the chance to speak she says “I remember giving you guys two bags” in the rudest tone I have ever heard. We AGAIN politely say that we only received one of the orders. She then proceeded to ask what was missing and we told her. She said that the order went through and she doesn’t see any bags around. She closes the window and we hear her complaining about us to her manger. They both came up to us and implied that we were lying to them to get free food. WHY WOULD WE WAIT IN LINE FOR ANOTHER 30 MINUTES TO GET A “FREE” CRUNCHWRAP SUPREME AND A TACO. The lady finally rudely said to “pull back through and then your order will be done” My friend then asks for a refund because we were not waiting another 30 minutes for it. (We live 2 hours away and it was 12:45 at this point) They finally gave us the refund after complaining about us for the 3rd time and reinstated that they didn’t...
