Really it was very interesting and informative to see trees and plants that you have never seen before and get to smell them at smell stations. These trees and plants are your lotions, perfumes, fruit, pesticides, etc... There is a waterfall that travels down a mountain side. This is not a waterfall that you walk under. You walk at your own pace down single person narrow pathways that twist and turn. It is not set up very well for strollers. Could you do it? Yes but not easily. There are 2 levels accessible by staircase and elevator. The second level has more plants at both ends of the observatory to see along with an observation walkway to view the canopy. My friend had a knee problem and did ok walking it using the elevator. Note that the elevator is only at one end of the building though. I will say if you bring your 6 yr. old, you are probably wasting your time and money. We had two 6 yr. olds on our trip who lasted about 10 minutes, and the parents had to take them home. Kids may not appreciate plants or reading the signs at the bottom of each one. It is very hot and humid for the plants and people (think jungle). It really is more for adults to be able to appreciate it. Of course, if you do not like learning, reading, or plants, then this may not be for you either. Anyone who likes learning, reading, and plants...
Read moreThis tropical conservatory is awesome. In a not too huge crystal tube they've managed to fit some ecosystems. You can find some orchids at the entrance, followed by a set of bromeliads and tillandsias. They even have a pineapple and some banana trees. Once you're inside, you instantly feel the warmth and the moist of a tropical environment. There's a main deck and some upper levels on both ends. On one side there are more desertic species. This conservatory is part of the Myriad Botanical Gardens. A larger space with a small lake with kois and ducks and some areas for performances and prom events. My only concern is they close al 17:00 (as everything in the area) and that the gift store doesn't have some extra 15 min left for souvenir picking. But that's just me, the...
Read moreThe Myriad Botanical Gardens are a beautiful escape right in the middle of Oklahoma City. The outdoor gardens are free, well-kept, and perfect for a peaceful stroll, with plenty of shaded areas and spots to relax. The Crystal Bridge Conservatory is the real highlight with a lush tropical environment filled with exotic plants and vibrant flowers that feels like stepping into another world.
The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is that the conservatory is a bit smaller than I expected, so you can walk through it fairly quickly. Still, it’s a unique and refreshing experience that I’d definitely recommend, especially if...
