My husband and I ventured over to the newly anticipated Goose excited for some Saturday sandies, we left quite underwhelmed. First and foremost the flow of things is very awkward. You order at this small counter to the left of the main bar which is quite narrow to the rest of the main dining with a main dining table blocking the line to the cash register. We stood in line awkwardly while patrons tried to eat their meals inches from us and families with strollers trying to fit in to take their orders all while everyone who is trying to enjoy their food is staring at how tight it all feels. My husband ordered “The Goose” sandwich and didn’t even finish it. The bread was nice but the deli meat was sparse for a $13 sandwich. He ordered the side cucumber salad to which were thick cuts of cucumber with very bitter watery rinds. I ordered the Falling Leaf with a side of pasta salad. Let’s just say the pasta salad was the saddest side I have ever had in history with absolutely zero flavor and overcooked pasta. The sandwich mayo on the falling leaf was delicious, but again for a $13 sandwich there was minimal depth. Also, the woman taking orders was actually quite rude, rushed us and rolled her eyes when my husband asked if you all served mimosas. How would we know? It was our first time trying the new establishment and layout. My suggestions would be to take that nice big part of the building that you are doing for your take out orders and making that the main area to take your dine in orders to make it less stressful and congested for your patrons. Side orders need huge work on flavor. We left defeated spending $45 for lunch on two mediocre sandwiches, two...
Read moreI came here with my spouse for lunch. I ordered The Goose sandwich and a side of curly fries. Spouse got the Whirligig and a side of fried pickles. My sandwich was great, but it had a tad too much mayonnaise for my personal preference. I think I might have preferred a bit of Dijon mustard if the option was available. The bread was nice and soft, and I think I continue to have a love/hate relationship with arugula, lol. The curly fries were good but pretty standard, like what you could get at Arby’s.
Spouse wasn’t a huge fan of the fried chicken sandwich. I did try a bite of it, and it was rather average. While the chicken was juicy, the hot honey wasn’t really noticeable. I think perhaps this sandwich may need stronger seasoning in the batter of the chicken or maybe even when the chicken comes out of the fryer. The fried pickles were good, but the sauce that came with it (not sure if it had a name because there’s no mention of a sauce for the fried pickles on the menu) wasn’t to my liking. It was very mayonnaise forward and didn’t taste of anything else.
While I would return to try other items on the menu, it’s not...
Read moreAt first glance I was under the impression that a letter had fallen off the sign in front of The Goose. I later realized it was indicative of my future experience there. I was questioning “where is the G?” It’s me, it’s you. It’s all of us. We are the “G”. The Goose will surprise you, it will please you, it will leave you feeling gangster. Perhaps you and your wingman are hungry. Maybe you’re feeling like a real maverick and you want to drink a pint and get “inverted”. Or maybe you are looking for a cool spot to do a business lunch so you can seal the deal like a true Ice man. Whatever the case this is the place. The vibe is cool, the bartenders have jokes-terrible ones. There is local beer on tap. The sandwiches are great. You won’t be disappointed. I should probably warn you, they don’t serve goose sandwiches. I know, I know, but if they were perfect they would put everyone around out of business. Try the goose. Don’t...
