I visited here with a couple friends during Thunder’s game 5 before the championship. I truly enjoyed myself. I had a mint chocolate chip milkshake with alcohol beverage. My friends ordered I want to say garlic parmesan fries for the table which were very tasty. I had a good time and did not think anything of it. Paid my bill and typically I would leave my customer copy at restaurants but for some reason I was inclined to grab this one. Which I am glad that I did. Maybe a day or two later the transaction posted on my account. I was charged double the price for my drink. Not a duplicate charge but a charge doubled in price so it was very much intentional. The server we had that night was a lady that went by the alias on the receipt as Pananah Bread. So immediately after discovering what happened and make no mistake it was credit card fraud. I tried to call the bar but no one answered so I left a message about what happened. I decided to just return to the establishment with my receipt that I still had that only God could have led me to grab that night. I asked to speak with a manager or the owner. They said it depends what I needed? I said you have a server who is committing credit card fraud that goes by the alias Pananah Bread which is on the receipt. They went outside to retrieve a man who did not identify if he were the manager or owner. He looked at my receipt and bank transaction and then he took a look in their system. He then left I assume to cross reference with their copy of the receipt and he came back and gave me my money in cash. I personally will not be returning so I am unaware if the server still works there. My best advice if you do visits here would be to bring and...
Read moreWell, I’m not sure how to rate this, because we really never even got to try anything. Our group was pretty much shut down at the door. We are middle aged, planned on spending good money on high end cocktails, but again, never got the chance. We stopped in Friday night around 10:00 pm, told them we would love to have cocktails, (party of nine) the Manager, I presume, told us they could only seat 4-5 at the most. Um, didn’t ask us to possibly break the group up and maybe sit close to each other or just nicely say, “we are a small eating/bar establishment and we are pretty full but could split your group up since it’s so late.” He seemed pretty perturbed we even chose the place. I did have to use the bathroom and saw him in the hall, and said, “ so in the future if we want to eat or drink here we should only have a 4-5-6 top or smaller?” He said, “ well we have an upstairs that seats thirty.” Really? I just don’t get it and if he’s the Manager, he must have not had ANY training on how to talk with customers in this type of situation. He did suggest a dive bar 10 blocks down the street that, he’d never been to, but heard good things about it. I promise none of us were rude, obnoxious, or even put out, when told basically to go somewhere else. RJ’s owners and managers, try training a little harder, because there’s WAY more new restaurants and clubs opening in OKC that would love to have any money spent and people to accommodate, no matter what their group size totaled in number. Would never recommend or...
Read moreR&J’s Lounge and Supper Club has been one of my go-to spots in midtown for a while now. The second you walk in, the warm lighting, retro décor, and classic lounge music make you feel like you stepped into another era. It’s cozy without feeling cramped, with a mix of bar seating, intimate tables, and a patio that’s perfect when the weather’s nice. The crowd is always a comfortable blend of regulars and newcomers, and the staff makes you feel like they have known you for years.
I almost always start with the Eastside Chicken, but I like to get the Tabasco honey glaze on the side so I can dip. It’s perfect on its own, but the glaze takes it to another level. The truffle fries are another favorite, perfectly seasoned and rich without being too heavy. And when I’m in the mood for comfort food, the spaghetti is my go-to. It’s hearty, flavorful, and always served just right.
Whenever friends come to town, we have to hit this spot. I have crossed paths with a few well-known faces here, which is always interesting, but what I like most is that everyone just enjoys the space without any fuss. They also have an amazing guy at the door with a great smile. Very inviting and welcoming. They call him Chris Mitch. Friendliest guy in the world, but make no mistake… if you can’t act right, he will put you in check. Great food, great drinks, and an atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile. That’s why I keep...
