I have been to Barrios twice now and hated both experiences. Before I'd be willing to go if that's what my group decides, but I'm now at the point where I just won't go with my group if they return here.
First of all.... the prices are RIDICULOUS at best! I got the chicken enchiladas. At normal Mexican restaurants you get the big enchiladas, rice, beans, the works. Here, you get two enchiladas barely the size of your hand with 0 sides. The price? 16 bucks! And that's how all their food is! "Surely when I order the two pork tacos, they'll put more on my plate than just the tacos, right?" You ask. The answer is no. They will 100000% serve you two tiny little $15 tacos on a bare plate. Seriously, I think Jack in the Box's tacos are bigger than Barrios. And their sides are all 5 bucks so if you want a meal you're paying 20 bucks at the least. My Pictured meal was 21 bucks and it doesn't even cover the plate. What kind of Mexican place... 🤣
Also, there menu has like 10 items total. As someone who prefers chicken, it was hard to find something that sounded good.
Might I add that my dad literally stopped at McDonald's after we left because he was still hungry? Big lol there. I enjoyed the McDonald's more.
Service was HORRID. I went on a Sunday night, there was us and maybe 3 families there. Lots of empty seats. I don't drink much or quickly so I base my service on if my drink gets empty. I was left with an empty glass TWICE and when the waitress brought my drink it was coke.... I originally ordered a Dr Pepper 🤨 also if you're there visiting after your meal, I hope you don't expect water refills or attention in general. Once you pay, you don't exist to their waitstaff. We were there for an hour or so after our meal and didn't get checked on even once after we paid.
Now to my biggest point... I've attached a picture of the chicken from inside my enchilada. Does it look like it's seen a bottle of seasoning in its life? The chicken is literally just white and pink.... the street corn was flavorless!! Street corn! And the little tiny dollop of "crema" that went with it added nothing.
I will say on a positive note I loved the chips and salsa. Very fresh and the salsa had a kick. They also had a cocktail that comes with a popsicle, that was kinda cool.
Overall.... this is not Mexican food. This is a trendy joint that focuses more on their atmosphere than their service or food. I recommend saving your money. And trust me, by skipping this place you're...

If you’re looking for a spot in OKC that turns a solo dinner into an experience, set your compass for Barrios Fine Mexican Dishes. I dined alone and still felt like a VIP from the first pour to the last bite.
Service (10/10): My server, Bridgette L, is hospitality personified. She opened with a solid glass of water—crisp, cold, and perfectly timed—and somehow kept it that way all evening. Bridgette read the table (in this case, just me) with poise and warmth: check-ins right when needed, course pacing on point, and recommendations that hit 100%. She was attentive, engaging, and made the whole meal feel celebratory without ever hovering. If you can, ask for Bridgette by name.
Victory Club Nachos (showstopper): This is not a plate of nachos; it’s architecture. A towering stack of shatter-crisp chips draped in silky Tex-Mex queso and crowned with slow-roasted carnitas, pinto beans, guacamole, pickled red onion, jalapeños, crema, and a snowfall of cotija. Every forkful swings from creamy to crunchy, bright to rich, with heat that hums instead of shouts. It’s shareable—unless you’re me, and then it’s a one-person victory.
Grilled Pineapple Tres Leches (don’t skip): Dessert brings balance: a plush tres leches cake that’s cool and custardy, topped with caramel-kissed grilled pineapple and a soft dollop of whipped cream. The smoky fruit lifts the sweetness, so the last bite is as refreshing as the first—exactly what you want after nacho nirvana.
Atmosphere: Vibrant without being loud, polished without pretense—the room glows with Midtown energy. From the friendly buzz at neighboring tables to the steady rhythm of the kitchen, Barrios makes a solo meal feel like you’re part of something lively and welcoming.
The Check (for the detail-minded): My tab: Victory Club Nachos and Grilled Pineapple Tres Leches—a memorable duo that clocked in right around what you’d expect. Worth every penny for the quality, portion, and execution.
Bottom line: Barrios nails the trifecta—exceptional service (Bridgette L is a star), bold food that’s impeccably built, and a room that invites you to linger. Whether you’re flying solo or bringing friends, this is destination dining in OKC. I’m already planning my return—and yes, I’ll be asking for...
Read moreToday was my first time here. I ordered the special and it had just sold out, the waitress made a few recommendations of other options that were nowhere remotely similar to my original order. She tried though and was sweet about it. I got the chicken enchiladas. The chicken itself was cooked well. Juicy and not dried out and that was the best thing I could say about the dish. There was no flavor whatsoever. No spice, no seasoning, nothing but a few chunks of tomato and onions. The cream sauce, again had no flavor. It was a basic, very thin sour cream sauce that was green colored and lacked in the flavor department. I had a side of “Mexican street corn”the elote did not come on the cob, which is fine, it’s a fancy restaurant. The elote came with a dash of cream on it with a tiny wedge of lime and a few sprigs of cilantro. $5 for burnt corn…… It also to no surprise lacked in flavor and does not align with any elote I have ever had, and not in a good way. I was disappointed to say the least. The atmosphere is aesthetically appealing to some, very hipster. Not my thing. The queso was really thick and had some chorizo on it, it was ok. The salsa was decent but this place focuses on wood smoked items and this had a tad bit too much smokiness, a bit overwhelming but it was welcomed since everything else lacked flavor. The chips were great. Best part about the visit. My friend said their bar selection was really great and their drinks were legendary. This must be why this place has a 5 star review because it is not for the bland food. The service was great. Our drinks never ran dry. We got to go drinks without asking. I looked at the bill (my elote was taken care of because of the issue with the special) and it was $43 (left a $10 tip) so $53 for basic hipster (I can’t call it Mexican or Tex mex food as it is insulting to both) nonsense as a previous patron stated in their review. I could not agree more. The overall score is a 2 (because 2.5 is not an option) only because the service was so good. People have to be drunk or not familiar with good Mexican food to think this was good or real Mexican food. Not Tex Mex not Mexican food....
