Tacowasso — Restaurant in Oklahoma

This was honestly the worst excuse for tacos I’ve ever ate. I have to give it one star because that’s just not how you do street tacos. It’s similar to when I make Mexican food at home. Like they tried. 😬 The first thing I tried was my gorditas and the shell, as pictured, was dry and crunchy with no real corn flavor or moistness and the meat was also flavorless. I tried adding the sauce to make it better but I used half a cup of the red “paste” to get some heat and flavor. The green sauce tastes like they puréed fresh tomatillos and lime and hoped for the best. (Hint- it didn’t work out) next I tried the tacos. You really can’t make me hate a taco.. but man I love Barbarcao and they even messed that up. Flavorless stringy meat. The shells for the taco are also pasty and obviously not homemade by any means. Which is fine, but at least get a good brand. The beans taste like they went to Sam’s and got the biggest can and crusted spoonfuls out for the side and the rice tastes like rice-a-Roni left out from the night before. (Hint: purée a tomato and use some seasonings tacowasso!) I also tried the steak and chicken, they were no better. I pictured the food because most of this you can literally taste as you read this and look at the photos. I ordered online to try for the first time and was surprised for my total to be about 10$ more than expected (online menu doesn’t accurately reflect prices) and the last picture was all I cared to finish. It’s like getting cafeteria food when your hungry and taking a few bites because it looks appetizing but realizing it isn’t worth eating. Don't go here. They'll rip you off and steal your money. I ordered food from their online menu on chownow.(under the same name as this review) firstly it wasn't updated to reflect which menu items they where out of. Horrible lazy managers. So I placed an order not knowing they didn't have what I wanted. Secondly they didn't even offer me a substitute. Just offered to refund the money. And since then.. they haven't given me a cent of my money back. It's been almost 4 days now, and they haven't even initiated the refund process. Thank God that money lost didn't break me. These idiots don't think about that tho. I continue getting the run around. Not to mention this food isn't good anymore. I used to love this place before they increased their prices. After this experience, I won't be returning. El Gran Coyote on 86th in the church parking lot is wayyyy cheaper and the food is 100% better. Go to tacowasso at your own risk. Their is a reason why they have a 3.5 rating lol. Unfortunately for them, I work In customer service.. and see between 30 and 60 people daily, 6 days a week. Each one of those customers is gonna hear about just how bad this place truly is. You don't know how many people ask me on a daily basis, what's good. It's quite sad that this place and this town are on the downward trend of being good. I will never be back and I will do my best to rob you of future customers since I see about 35 people a day on average 6 days a week. There’s a really good reason the reviews have gotten so bad for this business... a couple of years ago, this was one of the only options in Owasso for decent fast food tacos but now there’s a lot more options, so choose one of those before wasting time, energy, & money on this place. They aren’t capable of fulfilling orders by the time it says they will be ready on the confirmation email & never have been. I understand it may have been an issue when they were busy but considering they’re no longer busy anymore, why is there still an issue? The last 3 times I’ve picked up orders it has way more difficult than it ever should be. Today, I put in an order over an hour before picking it up at a specified time to pick up & they still hadn’t started in my order when I arrived at the pickup time listed on the order. What’s the point in placing an order before hand? The time before this when I ordered, I wasn’t allowed to get 2 small salsa with my birria tacos & told I would have to pay for them individually because “salsa didn’t come with that meal” even though it has come with that meal multiple times in the past.
