So many small and random stores really hinder this marketplace from evolving into something truly amazing. If it weren’t for the big box stores like Target, Starbucks, and Best Buy, Smith Marketplace would be a ghost town. Places like Carters, Kirklands, Belk, Rue 21, and Party city need to pack up and move out. The small shops on the East side of the marketplace are just as bad if not worse. Leslie’s pool, Vintage Stock, and Mattress Firm can go too.
My two cents and ideas— Make room for more local stores. Give us some high end stores and nice restaurants to keep us from traveling into...
