I am not a Karen, and I’ve maybe left 3 negative reviews in my whole life.
Avoid this place if you don’t want to get sick.
My husband got food poisoning the first time we tried it. He had the lamb meatballs. It was awful. I went online just to ask CAVA to verify food safety at this location. They were kind enough to offer me an in-house credit. My husband and I worked up the courage to try again.
This visit we were much more aware of the serving conditions.
We ordered a build your own bowl. Asked for fresh chicken rather than the chicken that’s been sitting in their serving area. I watched this girl grab the fresh chicken and pour it on top of the small amount of chicken that was left in the stainless steel tub. Mind you, my husband and I ate this fresh chicken and it was room temperature. So now, whenever they finally get down to that last bit of chicken, who knows how long it will sit at room temperature before someone eats it. They’re not very busy.
On top of that, I watched a few different employees touch all kinds of different surfaces without changing their gloves. I watched one employee carry food from stainless steel tubs in the back, holding the tubs on the bottom, then touch the chicken inside with the same glove. I watched the girl who took our order - she touched the pita bread with her gloves, all the serving spoons, then the touch screen. I’m sure she has done that all day, so I can only imagine how much germ transfer there was.
Needless to say, we couldn’t bring ourselves to eat much.
CAVA needs to have a manager watching these actions to ensure food safety. I’m unsure what the guidelines are to rotate the food out from their front serving area in those stainless tubs. The meats are not kept at an adequate temperature on this table based on what I’ve seen twice now.

I work days and usually pick up dinner after work at 5. Every time I go to order they’re out of a majority of their proteins. Today, they’re out of lamb, steak, and avocado. Last time I ordered, they were out of hummus and pita as well as the lamb. I don’t like chicken or falafel, so I am going somewhere else!
I’m a general manager in food service and my business doesn’t run out of stuff. Especially proteins. When you only have a handful of things on the menu, you shouldn’t run out of stuff! I’m not sure if it’s because this is primarily a lunch restaurant or what, but any general manager should know that if you’re running out of stuff often, you should probably prep and order more of those things so you don’t run out!
The service is good during the day, but I’ve had a few negative interactions at night. I understand that the employees are wanting to leave on time, but closing everything down an hour before the store closes and treating customers like they’re an inconvenience is not good.
If the general manager sees this, I’m not the only person who’s experienced this! Your store would be raking in more money if things weren’t out of stock by 5pm!
Edit: I looked at 3 of the other stores within 30 minutes of me, and none of them are out of stuff. I am going to drive 25mins to the one in Tulsa! I promise I’m not a Karen. I just really, really like the food here and wish that you all wouldn’t be out of stuff...
Read moreI’d been doing some last minute Christmas shopping in Owasso but HAD to grab a bowl of Spicy Greens for my son-in-law and my favorite Cucumber Mint drink before heading home to Bartlesville (35 mile drive). I shared my family’s love for Cava’s fresh ingredients with the gentleman preparing my order and stating it’s worth the drive. I even asked if there’d be a Cava in Bartlesville soon. This LOVELY LOVELY MAN, named Jamison (the manager and gentleman preparing my order) COMPLETELY BLEW ME AWAY WITH HIS UNMATCHED KINDNESS! He ONLY charged me $3.74 for a $21.45 ticket!!! AND he gave me 2 large cups for drinks AND COOKIES AND BROWNIES!!! I TEARED UP at his gesture of PURE LOVE!!!! It’s even on my receipt!!!
