My fourteen year old granddaughter went to Big Licks excited for some ice-cream in this Maine heat. However when she ordered and bought an ice-cream ( with her own money) she found a hair in it as she’s walking back to our hotel. Not only that but there was more than one hair and in her attempt to pull it out the hair broke because it was stuck in so deep. Calling me in disarray she expresses disappointment so we walked back to Big Licks together wanting her money back (cause it’s not cheap) and the young workers who were very kind call up their manager who denies us the ability to get a refund and claims the only thing they can do is get her another one. Which after that of course she didn’t want. Even after showing them a picture of the hair in her ice-cream they still were unwilling to refund her. So not only was there poor service and management but also a lot more locks of hair than licks of ice-cream!...

We unknowingly walked in just after closing but door was still open Oldest Son got cake batter in an edible bowl but didn’t like it. Threw most of it in trash.

Youngest son got chocolate in a dish and enjoyed it. At all of it.

Daughter got brownie batter in a chocolate and nut cone. She liked it and ate as much as she could. Very large portion. I finished it.

Wife got coffee ice cream in a chocolate dipped cone and she enjoyed it

Dad got a Reeses Explosion sundae which was ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGLY LARGE AND DELICIOUS !! I ate every drop. It was ice cream heaven!!!!!

Overall this place is expensive but large portions and good ice cream. We spent $40...

Went with a group of 5 people. CASH ONLY. They give large portions and the smallest size filled up the biggest eaters of the group. People who ordered the double scoop didn’t finish it.

2 people ordered key lime pie ice cream. They ice cream had no flavor and everyone within the group tried it and gave it 1 star.

1 person ordered black raspberry and liked it.

1 person ordered M & M and liked it

1 person ordered hot fudge sundae ice cream and said it was mediocre.

Ice cream was generally airy meaning it is a low quality variety. I would go to a different ice cream...

If you want a variety of flavors and add-one this is your place! They also offer a ice cream sandwich which is 2 “freshly baked” chocolate chip cookies with a scoop of any flavor ice cream. I got mine with Maine Maple Walnut, it was huge and very good. Located right across from the amusement park right off the Blvd. Prices are OOB prices, paid over $25 for the sandwich, a waffle cone, and two cups of ice cream with toppings. Didn’t give it 5 star because it didn’t blow my socks off. Ice cream is pretty good, options are great!

Tons of options for flavors, cones, sundaes , pretty much anything ice cream. Only place I’ve ordered a cookie sandwich with ice cream and not have it all fall out, cookies were perfect and portions are generous! Highly recommend! Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is cash only, in this day and age where everywhere takes cards having to go to an atm and get hit with a fee or get cash back is an extra hurdle, plenty of groups went in and left once they saw the sign, but bring some cash and enjoy!

Only place I’ve ordered a cookie sandwich with ice cream and not have it all fall out, cookies were perfect and portions are generous! Highly recommend!
