Visited a few times summer 2020...
Visit 1...GAWD AWFUL. waitress had next to no vocabulary, 4 words at most. Drinks were blah but drinkable , calamari....h e đđ NO ( Specifically asked about the calamary and it was praised as if it was the staircase to heaven itself). Hostess was AMAZING though, made sure we were seated right where we wanted:)
Visit 2... waitress was on point, only ordered drinks... still blah:( waste of money as the 2 ingredient drinks were flat out disgusting, went elsewhere.
3rd and LAST visit... decided to give it 1 last try... big mistake (close to $1,000 big mistake). Sat on deck, beautiful singer/guitarist was playing (ultimately the reason we gave them a 3rd try). Waitress was friendly and attentive. Ordered our drinks, attempted to drink said drinks, again, waste of money. My gorgeous man went to use the bathroom before we left with our drinks about 3/4 full. Settled on pier fries (always amazing btw), went to check the time, his phone was gone. Went back to myst to check bathroom, asked staff, nothing. Went back a second time to look, this time the waitresses wouldn't even let him look in bathroom again!Literally went crazy looking for it. Gave up about 2 hours later. Bought a new phone the next day after he remotely had his "lost" phone erased. . . . Decided to go back to the area the following weekend and pay this very restaurant a visit just to see if anyone had turned in a phone after we left. We went in started to ask the hostess when a familiar waitress from the prior visit started walking rather quickly towards us. Didn't even say a word to her, but she immediately started talking about the phone and how someone had turned it in. Funny how he she barged in to the conversation from across the room once we had mentioned that we knew his phone was there and that it had not left there since last weekend when it was "lost". Waitress said they tried to return it but the battery was dead. We made the comment that the phone was now erased, locked, and couldn't be used by anyone and that it was stolen not lost. He stood at the hostess stand continuing on with the conversation as I walked out the door. I started to talk to the security guard and let it be known that it was disappointing knowing that you can't even go out to dinner in your Hometown without your own cell phone being stolen by staff of the restaurant you went to eat at! I also pointed out how the servers make excellent money there all summer long and that there's no need to be a thief w your own customers. Security guard pointed out that they all are. That's pretty sad. Definitely won't be giving it a 4th try that's for sure.
Moral to the story* if you're looking to have a reason to upgrade your cell phone, come here for lunch or dinner. Certain wait staff will give you a valid reason to go out and buy that brand...
Read moreGF & I ate here for dinner, the restaurant was about half full. Plenty of staff on hand, yet it took nearly 10 minutes to be acknowledged by our server who seemed more preoccupied with chatting with coworkers. Ordered a drink and appetizer, when the drinks came we ordered our entrees, and confirmed with the server that we wanted the appetizer first.
After roughly 25 minutes of waiting for our single appetizer, our waitress instead brings out our entrees and informs us that there is a delay with the appetizer. Why would our entrees even be made before the appetizer when we specifically asked for the appetizer first?
For my entree I ordered the fish tacos, which were mediocre. The haddock had no seasoning whatsoever in the batter, it was very bland⌠a little salt and pepper wonât kill anyone. The menu states âtopped with slaw, scallion, and spicy aioliâ what I got instead was pickled red cabbage, and diced red onion. The aioli was good, and was the only redeeming quality to the tacos.
Positive: the obviously bagged/frozen sweet potato fries were decent
All in all, we waited a long time in a restaurant that wasnât that busy for overpriced food that wasnât very good, and never received the appetizer we ordered.

Read moreWent there on Thursday night with my wife and daughter. Got there and was seated rather quickly which was nice. The twenty five minute wait to be talked to was not, We were seated with our menus and sat like three invisible ghosts on the deck, no drink orders taken no one even acknowledged us. The insult came when they seated a 8 top table two tables away and before they were seated not one but two waitresses were taking their drink orders. We swallowed that knowing that in the restaurant business larger tables generate larger tips. Then to the left of us they seated a two top, big surprise appetizer and drink order in before they were settled in there chairs. At that point my wife and I decided it was not our night and we were going to go somewhere else. She went in and gave the hostess our menus and told her we had been sat a half hour ago and no one came over and was told oh ok. I understand that covid has the world upside down but it canât be used as an excuse for poor customer service. Too bad because itâs one of my daughters favorite places when we come to old orchard. On a better note, the staff at Hooligans took...
