If I could give them more stars I would. Our team earned a special holiday lunch. With Covid, this provided some challenges, as we try to keep our employees and guests safe. We wanted something tasty, but needed to keep it individual. I live in Tacoma and am not all that familiar with eateries in Olympia near the store, but was also finding it difficult to find anyone who could do individual style lunches, and of course, wanted to support local. I found Meconis and thank the universe for it. From my 1st call to delivery Danielle was beyond helpful and professional. We did individual boxed lunches. We had over 50 orders. So I put it into a spreadsheet for my ease, and sent it over sorted by count, and had a few specials/ allergies etc. (not one item was wrong!) and ordered a few extra full size sandwiches to cover anyone we might have missed. I wasn't there at delivery, but I walked into the conference room, with my list prepared to sort etc. and you know what? ALREADY DONE! Danielle, not only took the pertinent information on my spread sheet, but proceeded to write everyone's name, plus department on it, and then...yes, there is more, she boxed them by department! Blown away! That is a level of customer service you just don't find anymore (and certainly don't expect) I was already impressed that they were delivered on time. Now, I felt a little bad, that a reward lunch that would normally have been something like a catered lunch of prime rib or glazed chicken or that sort of thing, was instead a sub sandwich, then I ate one. WOW! I personally am not a big sub person, but hands down, one of the best subs I have ever had . Everybody was exceptionally happy, and were excited when they at least knew it was Meconis and now I know why! At this point, I can only testify to their catering and the sub sandwiches that come with it, but their 1/2 subs are more like full subs. At first I thought she had given us a full size subs, until I saw the full size subs. This all took place a few weeks ago, and my only regret is that I took this long to let the world know how much I appreciated this experience. Thank you Danielle and team for a great experience in a trying time. Sincerely, Barbara D Marketing Coordinator - Bruce...

My husband and I haven't had meconis in 3 years so we decided to get some tonight. We got there 14 minutes before they closed so thankful they took our order still. Husband ordered an Italian sandwich with no Mayo, we got back to our car and unfortunately his was caked in mayo. The guy working there was very kind and offered to remake it for him, was even kind to say he was sorry about the mishap before we left. While we were waiting I wanted to grab some condiments for my sandwich. The condiments are sitting on a different counter (away from the register) close to their kitchen entry. While grabbing my extra mayo for my sandwich I hear a female worker go, "um... ok" then another female worker speeds up to me like I am stealing something from them. They have a banter back and forth unfortunately I didn't hear but by the tone of their voices I'm assuming it wasn't nice. I grabbed the condiments, started walking back to my husband and with an attitude the female worker says something along the lines of, "were not supposed to have people past this part of the counter." Following very close behind me as I leave the area I'm not supposed to be apparently. I didn't see any signage saying I wasn't allowed to be back there or grab my own condiments. I don't appreciate attitude, and disrespect especially from something I knew nothing about. Would not come back to this establishment, and the sandwiches were better 3 years ago.. The only thing saving this place is the male worker who was working tonight. We appreciate him and...

In the last year, my enjoyment of Meconi's has plummeted. I used to tell people to make sure and go there for subs, now I tell them they're better off with Subway or paying a little more for Wagner's across the street. I got a combo sub, large soup of the day (fireroasted veggie) and potato salad to-go just recently. The soup was in a styrofoam container, the lid only half on, for which I noticed as I was on my way back to work. Soaked everything and the bag ripped shortly after. Not to mention, there was only maybe 2 tablespoons of veggies in the large soups, the rest was just broth(or what was left of the broth). The combo sub, slightly wet from the soup, was also dripping oil, enough so that I needed a napkin under it (like KFC chicken amount of grease) I ate half and couldn't finish it, as my mouth was slightly coated in oil, gross. The potato salad was okay, but really bland tasting, which used to not be the case. I paid $12 and wish I hadn't left a tip. I watched the staff making food in the back. I saw two of them wipe sweat on their forearms and wipe their greasy hands on their clothes, then continue making food. I also saw someone handling subs without gloves, which is gross, especially getting into cold season. I give 1 star for their bread, 1 star for location. The other 3 stars I would have given them 6 months-1 year ago are no where to be found. This also isn't an isolated experience, I've witnessed each of these things at different times throughout...

Easily the best sub shop in Olympia, although there really isn't much competition, if any. Subway is a contender, for example. Meconi's from what I understand, was founded by transplants who missed big city food. It shows. These are the subs I would take you to if you wanted a sub and were in town from any major city. It's a sub shop, not a sandwich shop or cafe. There is a difference. Now, I have had much, much better subs, I am something of an aficionado of good subs. Bread must be good, and ingredients must taste good. These guys do that. It's no Bronx Salumeria or Katz' famous deli, but for Olympia it's gold. (maybe bronze elsewhere.)

Disappointing. Gross. Literally just pulled 6 inedible things from a Half sandwich… wth. No idea what the little black thing is, I don’t think it’s even food. I think it’s plastic… the rest is the stems of the banana peppers… terrible food prep job there.. and a literal piece of bone from the Italian ham. Also I split between two meats, that and turkey, and I only got once slice of turkey. It was like 75% bread and every other bite I was pulling out stuff that belongs in the actual trash. I want my money back. Oh and no “hoagie peppers” which I ordered. Terrible sandwich 😅 honestly

Food was good but i almost left as the girl taking our order rolled her eyes and acted like it was a huge inconvenience that we were here to order. I smiled and said hello and she didn’t respond and continued rolling her eyes. I heard them say her name as tabitha I believe! We are first timers and doubt we will come back after feeling like we weren’t wanted and were bothersome. I wanted to be so excited but it’s hard when bad attitudes in the front ruin businesses. Maybe some training? Also the ranch was clearly old, it had see through dried drippings all around it
