2/7/2024 - 🤔What a sad surprise to receive from the owner such a harsh, passionate response with "!" ("I'm so sorry you don't see the value in Jen and her craft the same way we do!."). "!" is unprofessional and inappropriate for a customer's fact-based comment. 💮Yesterday's appointment was tense - Jen's hardened face and voice . . . I'm sad, but understandable. Being a responsible Local Guide, I consider informing future/current customers pricing is appropriate and helpful. 💮I found out what my yesterday's appointment, "Bangs and Bits for Shags only with Jen," was. It thought it's a new name for "Maintenance Hair Cut," but I was wrong. It's $15 appointment where Jen trimmed my bangs and shags of my layered hairstyle in about 10-15 minutes, with no shampoo. I just had my very first hair appointment with Jen Jones and OMG I am OBSESSED with how my hair turned out!! I probably had 6 inches chopped off and after being cooped up during this time of quarantine it was just what I needed! A literal weight off my shoulders! Right off the bat, Jen was engaging, super friendly, and really listened to what I wanted to do. She nailed it! I wanted a blunt cut to hit below my collarbone and the whole reason why I came to her specifically is for her known specialties: balayage and BANGS!! I have tried countless times to get straight across bangs that lay right so I’m not tempted to immediately sweep them to the side. Jen nailed it completely! I found her through my coworker friend who has beautiful hair and bangs. It took me a while to get an appt due to COVID and Moda Capelli being the most coveted salon in the Olympia area (in my opinion) but let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. I have very long, thick, curly hair. It takes me years to pluck up the courage to have it touched by a professional, as I have been disappointed time and time again in the past from other stylists. For months I searched for someone in Olympia, when I came across Jen’s portfolio I knew she was the one. She is the only person I trust to touch my hair, and she NEVER disappoints. When I first came in I was so terrified of spending a decent amount of money just to go home and cry in the mirror. This has never once been the case. After every appointment I am basically skipping down the street with happiness. It took years to grow my hair to the length that it is, so even though I had dead ends I did not trust anyone to cut it in fear I would walk out with all my hair gone. She always listens to my concerns, is honest with me and my hair goals, and has ultimately eased my fear of salons. My hair looks beautiful, healthy, and I still have my length!
