From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with a smile and genuine hospitality. The hostess greeted us immediately and offered our choice of seatingâbooth or tableâand kindly took our drink orders. Our server arrived promptly to take our appetizer order, and not long after, Brianâwho may be a managerâstopped by to introduce himself. He was incredibly friendly, checked in on us throughout the meal, and provided great insights into the menu and new items. Brianâs service elevated the whole experienceâattentive, enthusiastic, and truly memorable.
We started with the spinach artichoke dip served with rosemary flatbread. Itâs hands down the best Iâve had in years. The warm, flavorful bread paired perfectly with the creamy dipâso much better than typical chips!
Next, we enjoyed the Detroit-style meat combo pizza and a salad. Let me sayâthis was not âjustâ a salad. I had the Very Berry salad, which was bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors. Brian mentioned all dressings are house-made, and it shows. As for the pizza: perfectly crispy crust, cheese all the way to the edges, and delicious cupped pepperoni. We tried three versions, and every one was consistent and absolutely nailed the Detroit style.
The atmosphere is bike-themed (âSPIN!â), with fun wall art, creative light fixtures, and an open, airy feel thanks to the large garage doors leading to a great outdoor patio. TVs are well-placed without being overwhelming, and the overall noise level is perfect for a conversation. The space is clean, modern, and welcomingâright down to the well-kept restrooms.
Before leaving, we discovered the gelato counterâlocal, house-made flavors. Though we were stuffed, Brian offered us sample spoons, and we couldnât say no. The gelato was outstandingârich, creamy, and bursting with flavor. Itâs worth coming back just for that!
All in all, this was an exceptional dining experience from top to bottom. Amazing service, great food, clean atmosphere, and thoughtful touches throughout. Highly recommend stopping inâespecially for the salad. Okay, and the pizza. And maybe...
Read moreCame here hungry last Friday night with two hungry kids. Took a long time to get drinks and 48 mins for pizza. Overall, servers seemed clueless and didn't return to the table. Once we ate and the pizza was gone, we stood for at least 5 minutes at the gelato hoping the cashier would see us to serve gelato (it's not clear whose job that is, as the cashier would have to abandon a long line of customers waiting to order to serve gelato, but there's no one else attending the gelato counter...). I've tweeted at them and emailed hoping for an encouraging response or apology or (or at least an acknowledgement that it shouldn't be this way...), but no replies yet. One server (possibly a manager?) came by and was handing out $5 vouchers, but never acknowledged there being a problem when she was at the table. I saw a family of four (two little kids) leave after 45 minutes when they hadn't received their food. I really want this place to do well, as I like their pizza and have been a frequent customer. However, I've had two terrible customer service experiences here (the other was mid-week when the place was fairly quiet), which is too many. it seems the place is mismanaged and/or chronically understaffed or both. Ironically, I noticed they have a sign for their staff located near their drink station that reads "See it, own it", meaning that employees need to take ownership of problems and work to give customers a positive experience. They seem unable to even approach this ideal. I might try again in a few months in the hope that they've solved their problems. However, it won't be...
Read moreI really want to like this place because I think the food is great, but Iâve had such bad experiences every time Iâve gone.
My first time trying Spin, I met up with a larger group that had already ordered by the time I arrived. I ordered, took my seat, and waited. And waited. And waited. So I asked the waiter what was up and he said heâd go check. Theyâd apparently forgotten my order. Mind you, Iâd already paid because thatâs how the setup is at spin. You order up front, then they bring you your food. They didnât apologize. They didnât offer a discount. They didnât offer a courtesy flatbread or coupon for my next visit. And by the time I got my food, the rest of my group was done eating.
My second time going to Spin, the silverware was dirty and the drink I ordered was wrong. Not major issues, but still a strike considering my first experience.
My third experience, today, I went with two friends. We ordered pizza and pasta, and somehow the cashier missed the pasta order, so we only ended up with one pizza, which took 40 mins despite the restaurant being less than half full. And my drink order was wrong again.
The more I think about it, the more upset it makes me. The second screwup happens at all restaurants. Itâs not fun, but itâs not a deal breaker. But forgetting or not including orders, and then offering no compensation or even apology? Thatâs ridiculous.
I canât in good faith recommend this place to anyone. However, I wonât deter anyone who wants to try it, because maybe my experiences...
