Urban Abbey — Restaurant in Omaha

Urban Abbey is my favorite coffee shop downtown, hands down. I never have to worry about being judged by what I'm wearing, who I come with, or when asking simple menu questions, all because of how welcoming it is. I was hesitant when I learned that they have worship here, but the religious vibes are nothing like what I expect from conservative Nebraska. While not really my thing, the books they carry range from how to accept and support trans youth to women's rights and justices - reflecting just how not-your-typical-religious-establishment Urban Abbey is. Such a cute coffee shop! Such a homey feeling upon entering, the decor is fun including the furniture. Part of the space is a bookstore with cool gifts to buy.

Great natural lighting especially when I visited on a Monday afternoon in December as the sunlight filled the room.

Lots of space to study or do work. I think it's also a great place for a date or light conversation.

What a gift! We’ve spent the bulk of the first day of our vacation in Omaha here in this place. The coffee was delicious (an Ethiopian light roast - maybe inspired by that first Ethiopian Eunuch captivated by the unlikely story of Jesus?).
