Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Onalaska

For a place that just opened up, the potential of an all-star has already been realized. This place was packed, the lines headed all the way outside the store and the workers were cool as cucumbers. The manager even came over to other people's tables asking how the food was, even taking away some scraps/trash they had after happily finishing their meals. There's a decent amount of chairs and tables and they were relatively clean when I stepped in, give or take a few crumbs here and there but deservedly so: This place makes some very, very, good food.

You know how some restaurants advertise food and it's blatantly obvious that that's not the quality you're going to get? This place steps up to the plate, and makes the food look even better than what they advertise. They even slice the meat and cheese right in front you. and the veggies are on another level of freshness.

The Big Kahuna is what I never knew I needed in life. A divine blend of steak cooked to perfection, sweet peppers, sauteed onions & mushrooms, and a gentle tang with a hard kick that the jalapenos offer, and gooey white american cheese on a lightly toasted bun. I've never had a cheese-steak this good, and I got a giant one too. In fact, I couldn't leave without ordering another- albeit regular size- to-go.

Overall, this place has amazing staff, wonderful food, and they make you feel more than just a customer, perhaps a long lost buddy, just catching up. 10/5, HIGHLY recommended keep it up!

I stopped in to pick up an online order on Thursday for my office. Although the food was fantastic, the service left plenty to be desired. The online order printout advised to jump or bypass the line and proceed to the register to pick up the order. The young lady working the register made eye contact with me and then continued to look away and process new customers. With my printout in hand, I finally called the attention of a person that I assume to be a manager. I confirmed I was there to pick up my order and he asked me to step behind the rack where the online orders were placed. Only then did the cashier acknowledge my need as the manager scolded me for interfering with the line and the other customer's ability to checkout. She quickly handed my order to be and then promptly handed me a bag suggesting that I slink in front of the counter and help myself to 5 bags of chips. What an incredibly awkward setup. I was very careful not to crowd or interfere with any of the other customers until I had to scramble to grab chips. It's very unlikely that I will step inside this business again. The fact that no delivery is not available also makes its less desirable. Your great food is not likely to out weigh the service challenges and lack of people skills. Get...

I had my 1st experience there yesterday. The sub was interesting. The customer service was great. Everyone was very friendly. I would suggest light lettuce and ask for light dazzle with the oils. My sandwhich fell apart trying to eat it. It was soggy mush from all the oil. She SOAKED my sandwhich. Lots of parking. Great location! Friendly service. My sandwhich (turkey provolone) wasn't great but I just think it had way too much sauce. I won't hold that against my rating. I'll just try it suggestively next time!
