Stinson Breads LLC — Restaurant in Opelika

I wanted to leave a review for this establishment because it is by far the best bakery in the local area. I love to try new places and stumbled on this place from a local food blog and was really surprised by the quality of all of their bread. After being disappointed by all of the other bakeries in the Auburn/Opelika area, I can only hope that this place gets a ton of business from all of our locals.

I visited right as the store was opening on Saturday and I'm sure all of the staff enjoyed a good laugh because I asked for literally one of everything. I'm not joking when I say our family of 4 ate all of the bread before the weekend was over. I'm sure most people will face a similar predicament upon seeing all of the fresh bread. Personal favorites were the sourdough loaf & croissant.

All of the staff were very friendly and it was great to be in an such a warm and inviting atmosphere. I would say that the only MINOR con would be the lack of seating. I saw maybe 2 places where people could sit and eat/drink. Maybe there is seating outside but it was raining at the time so I didn't really have time to check.

Overall 10/10. Will be visiting frequently. Please support so we don't lose such a great establishment.

Have you ever stood at your kitchen counter and contemplated eating an entire loaf of bread by yourself, at once? Me neither, usually, but it seems to be a surprisingly frequent deliberation whenever we bring home a Stinson loaf. Crusty on the outside, delicious and chewy on the inside—a poster child for the perfect sourdough, and that’s before we get into all the fun, special flavors Stinson Breads features. My husband and I both LOVED the white cheddar and black pepper loaf we picked up this weekend, as did our dog, who immediately tried to steal it off the counter. And then our cat got all hissy trying to run off with literal CRUMBS. (To be honest, I see where he’s coming from. This bread is just that good!!) If you’re standing in their beautiful new storefront and telling yourself you don’t really need four loaves of artisanal bread, stop lying to yourself and just get it. Buy an extra just in case. And prepare yourself to devour a few still-warm cookies in the car, because they smell entirely too good to last the...

I've been rucking in downtown Opelika for the last couple of years, but the current road construction has detoured me by the front of John Emerald. I was delighted to see this business a few weeks ago but hadn't had the time to walk in. Yesterday, I was waiting for a prescription to be filled before returning to work, so I walked over after my ruck. It's a very cozy space with a warm and inviting atmosphere. I didn't catch the name of the representative at the front desk, but he was very helpful and kind in helping me with my choices. I bought two croissants and what I think was called an everyday roll. I devoured one of the croissants after stepping outside, and it was fantastic. I had the roll last night with some soup, and it was also very delicious. Before leaving, I got to speak with Anna Claire about their subscription service, and she also patiently listened to my ramblings about trying to bake with einkorn. Lol.
