Usually, I looove Starbucks. However, this time made me cringe. My daughter and I went in together, ordered and paid. They didn't ask either of us for our names on the order. I didn't think much about it, but they usually want to know who they're serving the orders to. We ended up waiting over 30 minutes for our drinks. I noticed the girl serving up the drinks didn't call anyone by name, there were people who had been there before us that hadn't got their drinks either. She was serving orders that no one was picking up, and the ones who did take some of those drinks had come in and were way after us. This was a total break down for Starbucks. The baristas were rude. They didn't have any organization at all. I asked how much longer it might be, and she was not nice in her reply back. She was cold and uncaring to anyone who tried inquiring about their order. Several people had gathered by waiting to receive what they paid for. She just replied rudely to everyone, that they had a broken ticket machine that didn't print the orders correctly and she was just putting drinks she'd made out. They served my daughters drink then 10 minutes later she served my order, and it was incorrect. I ordered an iced drink, not hot. I feel that even when things happen out of our control, they could've done a better job. They could've done what other Starbucks do usually, and ASK PEOPLE for their names, and what did they order, and who hasn't received their order...etc. this place needs a corporate retraining. I will not visit this location again. I will say that as a long time customer of Starbucks, I've never seen such inconsistent, rude, not smiling and ill-prepared workers ever at one location. I do understand things happen, when confronted with a similar situation in the city im from, they get it together and communicate efficiently and effectively with their customers. This location didn't do that. In my book, it was...
Read moreAs a professional food critic, I am appalled by the existence of Starbucks. How can anyone claim to enjoy their coffee when it is burnt beyond recognition and drowned in sugary syrups and whipped cream? The only thing worse than their coffee is their food, which is nothing but overpriced, pre-packaged junk that tastes like cardboard.
The fact that Starbucks has managed to become a global phenomenon is a testament to the power of branding and marketing, not the quality of their products. Anyone who claims to be a coffee connoisseur and still enjoys Starbucks is simply fooling themselves.
But wait, don't get your pitchforks just yet, because I'm just kidding! As someone who has enjoyed many a Starbucks latte in my lifetime, I can say with confidence that their coffee is actually quite tasty. While it may not be the most sophisticated or artisanal coffee out there, it's still a satisfying and reliable option for a caffeine fix.
And as for their food, well, let's just say that their pumpkin bread and bacon & gouda breakfast sandwich have saved me from many a hangry moment. So while I may have been a bit harsh in my initial assessment, I can honestly say that I'm a fan of...
Read moreWe work in Orange Beach and sometimes need to order breakfast to go. It’s never easy when it’s summertime at the beach, but to be July 4th as well. Ya might as well grab a book and hunker down. Today was a super busy line around the building kinda day. Cars were leaving the take out line and people seemed pretty tense. Totally a “please pack your patience” kinda mood. We were greeted by a barista with a great attitude and kind voice, even though she had already been handed a few unkind vibes. She made our wait pleasant and she made us smile. It takes a lot to pack in the attitude and take tge time to be kind. We appreciate “Summer” and the team of people that make the wheels turn at the Starbucks in orange beach. You made our morning and showed us how a smile and willingness to adapt to meet our needs can make a crazy morning a little less crazy. We had a great breakfast too. We had hot oatmeal with blueberries, an eggs, cheese and sausage burrito, and an awesome grilled cheese on sourdough. I know that’s not a breakfast sandwich but yummmmmm....
