It’s 7:15AM on 09/26/18. I love Krispy Kreme but I was very disappointed with the customer service on my daughter’s birthday this morning. I’m giving Krispy Kreme a one star today for negligence & bad customer service from Claudia! If the management team is reading this; please check your line of staff! Sadly I became the Duchess of Krispy Kreme today because my kids love the doughnuts & do not want them to go out of business. This is the second bad experience that I had.
First of all my girls did not get greeted with hot doughnuts as they walked in. The “hot doughnuts” sign was on! But that’s ok! I have a free birthday doughnut in my Krispy Kreme phone app & I requested to use it first so that my daughter would feel special on her 9th birthday. Claudia mumbled “cumpleaños” to the other very nice girl in the back to bring my daughter a hot doughnut. The other girl was so excited that she even gave my daughter a balloon too! Not everyone is created equal; credit to good employees out there.
Secondly; Claudia got impatient waiting as my daughter was taking a minute to pick doughnuts. My daughter can feel the frustration & see it on the employees face so my daughter made it easy for Claudia by picking a dozen of strawberry sprinkles. Apparently Claudia didn’t care that my daughter was super excited to get 2 dozens of doughnuts for her class to celebrate her birthday.
Thirdly; I got a BOGO coupon (buy one dozen and get one original glazed dozen for free) from purchasing their calendar in January 2018. This coupon expired 09/30/18 so I intended to use it on my daughters birthday to treat her class. Claudia said that I can not use my calendar coupon as I scanned in my Krispy Kreme phone app because I had to use my free dozen reward from my phone app FIRST! Claudia said that she couldn’t override my phone app reward to save for another day because the computer automatically uses it first. BUT Claudia did 2 separate transactions! She FIRST used my BOGO coupon from the calendar at 7:24AM & then did a SECOND transaction at 7:26AM to use my free dozen rewards from my phone app. How does that make sense?! I thought she couldn’t bypass the system?! Shouldn’t my phone app reward be redeemed first if Claudia couldn’t override the computer to save my reward for next visit as I intended?! I was actually saving my free dozen phone app reward to treat my volleyball team after the game tomorrow. Read moreThis is probably the closest Krispy Kreme to me, living around the Fullerton area. The first time I went here, I was so excited and amazed because they this Krispy Kreme has a window into their bakery, allowing customers to see the process of the workers making the famous Classic Glazed Donut. I have never seen this before, since I'm always going through drive thrus.
Other than that experience, the donuts themselves can speak for themselves, When I received my Original Glazed Donut, it was warm and so sweet and rich. It melted it my mouth right when I swallowed it whole. I also was able to try the Chocolate Glazed and that was just as good.
The Kripsy Kreme is located near the Orange Outlets which is quite a mess with parking. The parking is pretty spread out, but I believe, isn't enough for how many people come here. SO expect to find parking because usually outlet goers seep into the Krispy Kreme parking lot. The parking at this location can be quite hectic and hard to navigate. When it gets crowded during rush and weekends, the drive-thru line and seep way into the parking lot, so I recommend parking a little further away, or even closer to the outlets so that you don't have trouble when leaving.

That being said, my review is on this location and the staff and an issue with the mobile application. I placed an order on the app. The order was not recieved at the store though I was charged. Placed order at 630 am on 1/28 for a 715 pick up. I was asked to come in so they could look into what went wrong. When the ticket was eventually processed and the store did get my order while I was standing there the Manager or Supervisor said to me, 'well you didn't place the order for 715 you said 728 am.' I was shocked. I said Sir that is the current time. That's the time you are recieving the order not for when I asked for the order to be ready. He was incredibly rude and the comment was unnecessary. A simple we have your order here now and we're right on it. Done. Simple and polite. The remainder of the staff was fine. For a store that had much staff inside, and zero customers other than myself at the time you'd think he would appreciate anyone coming to his store. I only recently returned because your full menu is back and available. I'll return again because it would be a pity to see another Krispy Kreme shut down as so many others have closed.
