This had to be the worst meal and experience I’ve had in some time! Not only did the food come out within 5 mins, it looked like it was sitting there for hours and they microwaved it! I’ll admit we got there at 9:53pm they closed at 10:30, but every thing that was given to us was worst than two day old fast food (not that I eat fast food but that’s how awful it was.) I was looking forward to go to Lucille’s as I’m a huge B.B. King fan, and I thought regardless of the time the customer service along with the food would be more than a left over slapped together scrap meal! I ordered the kids meal for my daughter that had ribs and fries, I ordered the two meat combo and a side wedge salad. The wedge might have been the most disgusting wedge (if you can call it that) I’ve ever had, there was a thin liquidity, what I assume was, bleu cheese dressing barely on there with a dash of crumbles. The two meat choices I selected was the St. Louis ribs and brisket, the ribs were dry and the brisket was end pieces of fat. The garlic mashed potatoes looked like oatmeal or vomit with not garlic flavor, and the potato salad I was afraid to eat because it was warm and smelled bad. As we wee waiting on our food (for like 5 mins) I crossed my legs and my knee grazed the bottom of the table. As I was putting my daughter’s jacket on the other side I felt my dress get snagged on the table… come to find out, it was gum my dressed was stuck to. Absolutely atrocious!! Then I asked my server to place an order to go and if it could be ready by the time we finished our meal. As we get ready to leave 30 mins later, the server informed me, he put the order in but the cooks turned off their fryers and were unable to make the burger and fries I ordered, so now my father didn’t get to eat, as a result of this error. I don’t understand how the restaurant hadn’t reached their closing time yet their fryers are off and cleaned up, which made me realize the food was not fresh. I understand you may have to precook the ribs but as horrible this food was, it was just like eating a poorly cooked tv dinner.
My advice… skip this restaurant all together, if you want fresh food made with love you’re better off going to chipotle or pollo loco! At least their food is fresh!
Highly disappointed and $70 later for my 2 year old and I ( which isn’t that outrages, but it is for crap food with mistakes and poor service) would think I’d...
Read moreThanksgiving is a time for warm, comforting meals shared with loved ones, but my experience at Lucille’s on Chapman and Louis Street was anything but. It was a holiday disaster that left me frustrated and without a meal to enjoy. Food Quality: The food was absolutely appalling. The turkey, the centerpiece of a Thanksgiving meal, was served cold and tasted as if it had been sitting out for far too long. The gravy, which should be rich and smooth, was thick and chunky, further proof of how long it had been neglected. To make matters worse, not everything that was promised on the menu was served. The mac and cheese, which I was looking forward to, was almost laughable. It barely had any noodles, and what little there was felt overcooked and mushy. It was clear that no care or effort went into preparing the dishes, leaving me deeply disappointed on a day when food should be the highlight. Customer Service: The service was equally terrible. When I politely brought up my concerns about the food, I was met with rudeness rather than understanding. Instead of addressing my complaint or trying to make the situation right, the staff dismissively told me to go back to my seat, offering no resolution or apology. The lack of courtesy and basic customer service was shocking, especially on a holiday when people are supposed to feel welcomed and cared for. Overall Experience: This visit left me so dissatisfied and unwelcome that I ultimately left the restaurant entirely, with nothing to eat on Thanksgiving. Lucille’s not only failed to provide a warm, enjoyable holiday meal but also demonstrated a lack of respect for their guests. Final Thoughts: Lucille’s completely missed the mark on what Thanksgiving is about—good food and good company. Cold turkey, chunky gravy, a half-empty menu, and dismissive service made this one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I would not recommend Lucille’s to anyone, especially during the holidays. Rating: 0.5/5 Lucille’s needs to rethink how they prepare and serve their meals, as well as how they treat their customers. No one should have to leave a restaurant on Thanksgiving...
Read moreLast Sunday, July 14 of this year, my family came from Mexico, I had boasted a lot about this restaurant, we went to their location in Orange County, we arrived and I asked the lady if it was possible for us to have a waiter who spoke Spanish, (unfortunately my English is very poor), he responded that I had to wait 50 minutes, I discussed it with my family and they told me no because they had to return to Mexico in a few hours. I approached the lady and let her know that we couldn't wait, that it was okay to have a waiter who spoke English serve us. She asked me sarcastically, "Are you sure?" I just said, "Yes, we're sure." Well, we waited a few minutes (at this point we had already been there for around 12 minutes), a lady who speaks Spanish approached me and told me the following: did you ask for someone who spoke Spanish and then you decided that it doesn't matter if they only speak English? I answered yes. He tells me: Ok ma'am, in 5 minutes they will bring it to your table. More than 5 minutes passed and we were finally moved to a table. At this point, the lady who "welcomed" us was secretly talking to a young Anglo-Saxon man and they turned to us and smiled at each other. Well, while we were at the table, he moved a group of people to a table next to us (the lady who received us), as she passed by she looked at us with quite a bit of disgust. They immediately attended to these people, brought them drinks and no one ever approached us to ask us anything. Of course it is a markedly discriminatory act. We still stupidly waited a few minutes, we got up and when we came out they obviously saw us, no one asked anything, but the young lady and the young Anglo-Saxon man smiled at each other again. It is worth mentioning that said lady has African American features, in case you are interested in knowing. I know that if I don't go back to that restaurant it won't affect their finances at...
