Had the Abby's Special of course. Thin very crispy bottom crust. Lots of very good toppings. Tasty and a little spicy sausage. Olives, mushrooms, other tasty stuff. Came out hot and quickly. Was a little dubious at first as the crust looked puffy... but was quite surprised by crispy crust. Lots of toppings and right amount of cheese. Also opted for the salad bar which by itself could be a meal. Didn't try the beer as I was my own designated driver. Now if I could only borrow the napkin dispenser! To bring home of course. Staff very friendly very helpful both up front and hostess Leslie who was very attentive and volunteered to take my photo. Dining room and seating area very very clean and I saw many staff cleaning and tidying throughout my meal. Yes, I will come back. I think the prices are reasonable and the food good.

Oh boy...the sign says "60 years" in business? When did they stop caring? The service is nonexistent. When our food arrived, I turned beet red laughing at what was served to us. We ordered a personal pan with "peperoni, jalapeño, tomato and basil" and a side salad. For some reason, they decided to just throw croutons IN THE BAG and the ranch pack literally right on top of the salad. And the pizza. Wow, yall. Wow. Let me tell you, an Italian is crying right now. I will say, the crust says they know what they are doing, they just don't have the right staff. I know this bc the "cook" came out of the kitchen and sat down with a bag of Wendy's and depressingly ate in the corner. Won't be back, but was highly entertained.

The service was excellent but the pizza is overpriced. We dropped $55 for two 13” pizzas (Hawaiian and pepperoni), 1 bread stick order, no drinks including tip, and something has changed. There used to be more pineapple and meat on their Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza. It’s been several years since I’ve been to Abby’s too so maybe they have different suppliers? It didn’t stand out or make me think wow like I did in the past. The restaurant was clean and there were several large screen TV’s. The booths were comfortable and again, the service was great. I’d order one or two 7” pizzas in the future if I were to come back. That’s a much better value.

UPDATE: To their credit, I was contacted by Abbys following my rather pithy review a few weeks ago. We discussed what happened, and they concluded that the servers simply forgot to apply the 25% discount coupon I had presented. Fair enough - mistakes do happen. We will give them another shot.

And thank you for the discount on a future pizza! I feel redeemed. I do look forward to that pizza!

And my wife is delighted that Abbys is back on our go-to list.

April 4, 2024

I am VERY unhappy about our experience at Abbys in Oregon City last night.

I chose it for dinner for our anniversary as it has been my wife's favorite for nearly 60 years. We ordered a half&half pizza and a pitcher of beer (expecting to buy a second pitcher. After all, we were celebrating!)

Knowing that Abbys prices have been rising for years, I was prepared for a bigger bill. But I had a 25% loyalty coupon they had emailed me a day earlier, so I figured I had enough cash. I gave them the coupon, walked into the bar to get the beer and got the bill. $53.60!

I did NOT have sufficient cash, so I used a credit card. I asked for a detailed bill so I could reconcile it to my expectation, but was told they could not retrieve it.

Trying to salvage the anniversary celebration, I let it go.

Until now.

Abbys, you are no longer on my "go-to" list. Ever since the business was sold a few years ago, it's been going downhill, with ever-higher prices and ever-poorer service. And to us, the restaurant was uncomfortably cold last night (earning it the 3 star rating on atmosphere).

To the leadership - you'd better resolve these...

I’m a food delivery driver and had a subpar experience here. I had two orders at the same time at this location- one was done when I got there (which is great)… and one was not. I then had to wait 40 minutes for my second order. I am not over exaggerating. I’ve been doing food deliveries for a very long time and have never had to wait that long, not even close. The entire staff was more concerned with side work and we’re all making jokes and complaining about how they received orders when they have to close in an hour. And the one that was done when I first arrived was completely cold and stale. Then, I noticed the girl in the front was putting every other customers’ orders in the heater except mine because it was a delivery service order so I guess they don’t care if it’s sent out cold? Even though they should considering that I’m driving it to one of their “valued” customers. I think they need to have a talk with the staff about how delivery services such as Doordash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, etc. matter...

Upset with my experience. Placed an order online and at checkout the site would not accept my card so I had to call the restaurant and order. I mentioned that the total was deducted from my bank for the online order but the restaurant stated they could not see the order so I placed another order over the phone, I ordered 3 pizzas with a side of ranch, one hour later the pizzas were delivered without ranch. Both orders were then deducted from my bank both over $80.00 each. I called the restaurant to ask for the missing ranch and they stated they would send a driver back to drop it off. The driver never returned with the ranch and I've paid for both the online order and called -in order. The only reason we insisted on Abby's was because we were honoring our father who passed away on this day and this was his favorite. This experience added unnecessary stress to an already sad day. Very unfortunate. I hope to receive a refund for the online order that was not...
