Please read to the end--issues to be aware of for the consumer and to be fixed for Mike's!
Wonderful burgers (even a brioche bun option!), great fries, lots of excellent, high-quality choices. Where else can you go to get anything from a banana split to a chocolate malt, from onion rings to buffalo burgers to a Reuben sandwich?
People are kind and treat you with respect...so much nicer than almost any other fast-food place out there!
There ARE a few issues of note, that--IF FIXED--would make Mike's a first rate place to eat!
Issue #1: The waiting area is incredibly small and chaotic. Some kind of 'take a number system' is desperately needed! Case in point: when we were there a few nights ago, a crowd of people arrived, pushed in front of us and even started ordering AFTER we had started to order! This sort of thing REALLY isn't acceptable, and a 'take-a-number' system (along with better customer service) would eliminate this issue.
Issue #2: BOTH times we have been to Mike's, they screwed up our orders! (Once quite badly--so badly, in fact, that I called to talk with a manager, who was not available evenings or weekends.)
On both visits, cashiers didn't read back our orders; on the second visit, cashier didn't give us a number or a receipt either. I had to wait in line again behind a man with three little kids for ten-to-fifteen minutes before I could even get a copy of my receipt!
Some suggestions to fix this issue: have cashiers read ALL orders back to customers; really tighten-up procedures behind the counter to make sure that orders are correct; and either have a manager available during off-hours, or make sure that shift-supervisors have more latitude to fix problems.
Until they fix these issues, your best bet is to come during off-hours---no chaos when ordering, and a much-greater likelihood of them getting your order right.
Fix these issues, and we'll be back AND bring all...
Read moreI went to Mike's drive in an Oregon City on Saturday April 29th. I placed my order online. I was told my order would be ready at 5:06 pm. As I left the house I received a text indicating the food was ready at 4:55 p.m. I attempted to reach the restaurant to see if there's any way to delay the order as it would cold by the time I got it. I was placed on hold and no one picked up the phone. When I arrived there was a few minutes to wait to get the food. When I spoke with the cashier indicating my food had been prepared 15 to 20 minutes ago and sitting getting cold she found what appear to be a manager. To manager was upset and did not want to solve the problem. She scoffed and indicated that it may take 30 minutes to remake the food. I reluctantly decided that I will just take the food cold. The manager did not seem to care and just threw the food towards my direction.
The food was very cold and soggy, as to be expected when it has been sitting out for 15-20 minutes.
Something needs to be communicated between and online and the staff at the restaurant. Most the blame would not be on the online service, which worked effectively. The major problem is the lack of customer service and empathy to the concerns of a customer.
We paid over $60 for garbage. Don't expect much of you go here.

Received a Google response from this establishment requesting I reach out to the manager via email. I already sent a message to this email. Very canned response with no resolution. Be nice if they...
Read moreHad a questionable experience on our last trip here, but my wife absolutely adores Mike's Drive-In in Oregon City. There was a Time I would rush to this place without any second thoughts. Now I don't think I'm ever coming back.
I leave a lot of reviews. And this review is about what was once a great place and fell to the victim of shrinkflation and price increase. We used to be able to come in and get a burger and fries and sometimes coleslaw and get a great deal. They had happy hour burgers in the middle of the afternoon which was awesome.
I ordered a double burger and got my wife a bacon cheeseburger with no onions. The burgers were small and tiny. The double burger which I used to barely be able to eat was also tiny. The fries were different. Everything about the experience is different and not for the good. The gentleman that out behind the counter basically took our order. I waited quite a while for two burgers and a fry. Again way longer than I used to have to wait and there wasn't a whole lot of people. The thing that irritates me the most is, they increased the price of the food, they downsized the portion, so you get less for more money and then you're forced to tip 15% 20% and such for picking up your food in a paper bag. YOU CANNOT SIGN OUT YOUR TICKET UNTIL YOU DESIGNATE A TIP. THERE'S A WAY THAT YOU CAN DO NO TIP BUT IT'S EMBARRASSING.
The food still tasted great there just wasn't much of it. Almost $30 for two burgers and a fry in the middle of...
