Believe the bad reviews. If you're looking for an up-scale Denny's, don't come here as that wouldn't be fair to Denny's.
Service: The staff, of no fault of their own, seemed really tired and generally trying to get through their shift the best as they can, though you can tell they don't seem happy. This is generally a management issue, but we'll get to that soon.
Food: The food arrived. Heavily cooked, bland, greasy, but that's the fare. The photos, name, doors and fancy handles may suggest an upscale experience, but the food quality and open-bar area is reminiscent of a middling Applebee's-esque family diner- which this is. It may not be apparent from the photos, but if you're looking for more than that, don't make a trip here. No points for or against, just an honest description.
I generally don't write reviews of restaurants like this (as there truly isn't a point when there's nothing to say), but what happened next left me really no choice.
Plastic in the Food: After eating most of my main entree, I bit into something hard, chewy, and odd - I had to fish it out of my mouth and unraveled (to my horror) a piece of plastic saran-wrap, literally baked into the food. The saran wrap was torn, and I can only imagine how much of it I'd eaten, or whatever other bits may have worked there way into the food.
When I called the server over, (to her credit, correctly appalled) she called her manager over, who upon arriving, seemed bafflingly non-plussed about the situation and stated that "it's just a small bit of plastic from the prep." in the way that one might shrug their shoulders and remark about the weather.
He offered to comp the food and give us a free dessert, but the attitude of complete dismissal in his voice, lack of surprise or concern, was the most telling part of the whole encounter.
If you care about the quality of the food you eat, (or perhaps even simpler, the integrity of it), I would unfortunately have to recommend avoiding this restaurant like the plague (even if it is really close to Costco during your monthly grocery trip)

Read moreWe went in on Monday about 4:30 pm. Celebrating the date we got engaged. They weren't busy, the young man did open the door for us, very nice. The hostess asked for our name so she could put us on the list? Only about a quarter of the place had people in it. We stood there for a couple of minutes wondering if we should sit or stand. We had just decided to sit when she said she had a table for us. Sat us at a table for 6, She gave us menus and took the extra place settings away and left. I had time to get my jacket off and start looking at the menu when she came back and asked us if we would please move to the table for 4 across the aisle. We did., we wondered why she had sat us at such a big table anyway. (No one sat at that table or the one next to it while we were there). By the time our waiter showed up we had decided what we wanted. He was very nice. We only wanted water and a soda to drink, he got those and then came back and took our order. The calamari was chunks, very tender, not much flavor. We were glad there was sauce to dip it in. My husband's salad was wilted and he ordered Bleu cheese dressing, tasted more like ranch. I had the Cobb salad, wilted lettuce, about three pieces of Bleu cheese, and tasteless grilled chicken there were two cherry tomatoes. My husband's jambalaya.... the shrimp had a nice flavor and cooked just right, the rice tasted like it had been dumped in a can of tomato sauce to cook, probably the worst jambalaya he has ever had. Our waiter did bring refills on the soda and the water. He did a nice job. I would give him 4 stars and the hostess 1, we couldn't get her to smile and she mumbled when she did talk. (Maybe she was in training?) The food, was edible, barely. We don't plan on going back. We were expecting so much more. Very...
Read moreA favorite restaurant. I've dined at Wilsonville, Lake Oswego, Beaverton, and the Clackamas locations. All were exceptional service and quality of food with great choices. They could use a couple more non-alcoholic beers, but they've got great wine, beer and spirits.
My only complaint about the food, has been at the Clackamas location. It seems that the soups have tasted a bit over salted. I've eaten mostly during happy hour only. I've eaten or tasted EVERYTHING off of the happy hour menu, which has a few rotating items, depending on the season, with a number of staples. My favorite soups are the tomato basil, the chowders, and the turkey curry. I finally tried the cute little wagyu sliders, and wow, talk about some great flavor! Though my favorites are still the steak bites (so tender!) the fish tacos, the chicken quesadilla, many of the soups, and even up the burger and fries (although, I prefer it with blue cheese dressing or crumbles).
When I need to cut back on my carbs, the lettuce wraps are fantastic, but look out for those carby-sugary, still warm donuts they roll in cinnamon/ sugar and serve with a caramel sauce... 5 big balls of donut guilt. I suggest you share!
Parking stinks at the Clackamas and Beaverton location most days during the 3-5pm happy hour, but not so bad when they repeat the happy hour again after 9pm, or during the lunch and dinner hours.
I recently ate at Copper River restaurant in Hillsboro. The menus and venue are so similar, I'd easily believe these restaurants were owned and ran by the same company. Even the happy hour menu items are almost the same, right down to the donuts. Whenever I have friends from out of town or want to meet up with old coworkers or taste family gathering, either of these restaurants is easily a...
