I’m starting my review with the results of how their amazing employee decided to handle the situation and then explain how it reached to this:
She decided to take my incorrectly made burger and instead of replacing the burger with a freshly made burger she took a piece of lettuce, tomato and onion from the trash can and placed it on the burger. How did I know it came from the trash can? I go to Carls Jr because I love their fresh burgers and fresh vegetables. Their famous star burgers end up being plump with all the fixings. It wasn’t the case here. This is how I knew this lady had used the cold burger she took from me, placed the items from items from the trash can, wrapped it and returned it to me. She Did not care to even warm up up the burger .She did wrap it in a new wrapper and hand it to me.”
This officially will be the last time I will ever be going to this particular establishment EVER! This had “health code violations written all over it “ I didn’t want to argue with her. I decided to take a loss. Took the burger at that point. Thanked her, went home and tossed the burger into the trash. I didn’t even think the burger was good enough to feed my dog with.
This is what happened:
I was in the truck with my sister and Brother in Law and out of all the establishments we could have patronized - Carl’s Jr got the vote! I normally LOVE Carl’s Jr! I ordered small not too hungry A famous star burger with cheese. I wanted only Mayo no special sauce. However, when I was dropped off at home all that was in my bag was a plain cheese burger with mayo. I got in my car and drove to Carl’s Jr and went through drive thru and explained to the woman what happened. Whereas she responded “ok come up I will give you some vegetables” Are you serious? I told her I have my burger Ok she says I can put it on there. Mind you the burger is already cold. I proceed to tell her you aren’t going to replace the burger? In my mind thinking, “Isn’t this a health department violation? Fast food establishments should not be allowed to take food through the drive or should they be handing out random food like that? She should have just made a fresh burger? I then asked for a for a refund so she called her supervisor. She said her supervisor wouldn’t allow her to give me a refund. Only to the person who purchased the burger. It was getting out of hand. It was late. She took my burger. Put one thin lettuce that looked like it came it from the trash. One old piece of tomato that looked it came from the trash and a couple of onions again from trash wrapped it up and handed it to me. By the way this was the Carl’s Jr located at 1331 N state Street Orem, Utah 84057 Time:...
Read moreI'm a fan of Carl's Jr from my childhood! Haven't had one where alive now for over 20 years...The minute we walked in to this location I noticed the work ethic of what seemed to be the only person working at the front (and he was). He was hustling between the drive-thru, cash register AND prepping food! He was friendly, greeted us right away, was multi-lingual - speaking Spanish to another worker in the back. Even though we could sense he was busy, he helped us without seeming rushed, only giving quality customer service and answering our questions with good detail. After taking our BIG order for 8 people, he was considerate enough to explain that there were only 2 workers so it may take a bit of extra time. We were happy to wait because this young man was so great. And then - he managed classic business smarts - he under promised but OVER delivered, getting us our food in minutes including free cookies!!! What a great employee, great shift leader and a tremendous asset Michael is to the Orem, UT store. Wishing you great success, Michael! You're exactly the kind of person who will advance, progress & succeed as you continue demonstrating service such as this, smiling bright, and hustling!! With confidence in your future & much Aloha to you, Monique & Tai Vuniwai...
Read moreWe come here annually to celebrate my deceased brother's life, as Carl's Jr was his first job and he was so proud to work there as a teenager, and really only come here for that. Unfortunately, the quality of food has really gone downhill since they got rid of their $6 burger series and grilled chicken on wheat bun with alfalfa sprouts. There used to be quality food offered. Now their charbroiled burgers are tiny and the meat tastes more like fillers than actual hamburger. It's hard to get through them. The chicken tenders, however, that I had to purchase because my double charbroiler burger meal was large enough for a 10 yr old, but not an adult, was really tasty, so I'm glad they at least have that still available. Basically, if you want cheap tasting, somewhat inexpensive food - this is the place for you, and I suggest getting one of their boxed meals for a deal. The restaurant we went to was freezing! It's spring and fairly warm outside but we were so cold we had to dig out blankets and coats from our vehicles and still shivered through our meal. When we asked if they could turn down the AC we were told they didn't have access. It's probably kept cold to turn over clients as quickly as possible. Wish we could bring back the Carl's I knew...
