Heard some good things about this place from a fellow foodie. So the fam ventured into this place for the first time. Never heard of this company before but we are always up for first time adventures. Pulled up today into the empty parking lot with the weather being over one hundred degrees. The lady who greeted us was warm, welcoming, and friendly. We really appreciated her knowledge with the history of the company and how it got started. We also were offered a few samples so we appreciated that. In addition, they also sell $2 ice cream scoops - they sell ice cream there. To our surprise, they also had bags of Carmel corn - that was stored in the small fridge. We actually make our family Carmel corn every Christmas holiday and it was a bit puzzling to us as to why theirs had to be stored in the fridge. We asked about this and she stated that it makes it lasts longer and it’s crunchy (the Carmel) when it’s cold. She did say the Carmel softens up when it’s room temperature (but why would Carmel corn be chewy?!). I did taste the “Brittany Carmel” which is caramel and marshmallow, coated with dark chocolate. It wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be. The milk chocolate truffle was OK. These chocolates are not as good as See’s Candies in my opinion. However they do have a “sugarless” section of chocolates which was impressive as they cater to a broader audience. The customer service was fantastic, but the quality of these chocolates...
Read moreAllow this personal story to illustrate how wonderful Mrs. Cavanaugh's is: They have a sign out front that says "If your name is [insert name], come in for free ice cream." They change the name every day. We've always thought it was such a fun idea, and a few weeks ago it had my daughter's name on it. We'd never been in before, so we gave it a try. My daughter got free ice cream and the rest of us bought some. The ice cream was creamy and delicious! Before we left, my 6-yr-old son mentioned they should try his name sometime. (Note: My son has a very uncommon name.) We left and didn't think about it again. Today we drive by and noticed my son's name on the sign. He was over the moon excited, so we stopped in for ice cream again. Turns out they have been waiting for us to notice the sign for THREE DAYS! They left it up just for my son! You should've seen the smile on his face. Now that's exceptional customer service! Oh, and the ice cream and chocolates are pretty yummy, too. We will definitely...
Read moreI was just in Mrs. Cavanaugh’s to pick up some things. While my service and product as fine, I was really disappointed in watching the employees try to avoid serving an elderly woman that walked in. They didn’t even greet her with a smile or hello. The girl who was readily available to help ran away and asked her coworker if she wrap my product instead of help the woman. So the girl who originally was helping me ran to the drive through window. The woman patiently and quietly waited until the third employee who had been actually busy was available to help her. It was disappointing to see them giggle and avoid customers. Very unprofessional and unkind. I would hope if my grandma was ever in the store she would be greeted with kindness immediately and employees willing to...
