Where do I even begin to start? I feel like the luckiest gal to have found this place as I wanted to go to the best when it comes to my engagement ring and wedding band.
I originally wanted to get my rings soldered so I called and talked to Dave (the owner) and then chose to drop by on a whim to get a feel of the place. First off, this is probably one of the last (if not the last) in Utah County to even consider/want to work with platinum, as it's a very tricky metal to work with. Upon Dave's investigative work (microscope) I realized that my previous jeweler in California pretty much sized my platinum rings the wrong way (yes, there's a wrong and right way to do this), so now there were weak spots in my ring that had to be strengthened and reinforced before even considering to solder them together.
Not only did Dave do what he said he was going to do, but he also went ABOVE and BEYOND what he promised. Dave is such a blessing (and a find) in his line of work, as he is one of these people: once he starts to work on something, he will not stop until he finishes it and gets it done right! Dave infused palladium in my platinum engagement ring to reinforce/strengthen the band, cleaned the rings, and soldered my rings together.
I can't tell you how happy we were to see my rings in pristine/original/brand new condition! It looks (and feels) brand new as to when I received it MANY years ago and it sparkles like the most brilliant star in the night sky!
Dave also gave pointers on what to use to properly clean it and when to come back for regular cleanings/polishing. He is like a long-lost uncle who makes you feel like family. The pricing for his work was excellent and reasonable. Pray to have him never retire as Dave is the best...
Read moreI am a noobie to taking care of jewelry. It is too bad that I did not receive some general jewelry maintenance instructions. I received a beautiful ring years ago but was told some things that now I am not sure are true. I was told that my ring was sold without tips on the prongs. Does that sound possible?
The 2 people who helped me at Hur Jewelers knew right away what to fix on my ring and quickly fixed the prong. The owner was there to inspect the work and give his opinion while the assistant handled some of the help I needed.
Previously, I had taken my ring to a jeweler located in University Place. I went to that store twice and the saleswoman said that I needed to have at least a $150 repair. No jeweler was there to look at my ring, only the saleswoman. Obviously, she did not know how to maintain the ring.
I also brought a necklace to Hur jewelry that had been tangled for a long time. It is delicate. The assistant undid the knots. I was taught to hang the necklace. I had been laying my necklaces as best I could in a little jewelry box that has drawers. It is not made for multiple necklaces in a drawer. Now I know some good basic maintenance for my jewelry. I will go back to Hur...
Read moreI’ve been a loyal customer of Dave Hur for years, and I can’t recommend him enough! My late grandfather bought from Dave for decades, my parents bought me my first ring here, and now I continue the tradition with my own purchases. Dave’s selection of jewelry and coins is incredible—whether you're looking for something classic or unique, he has it all.
I recently brought him a few stones from Africa, and he turned them into a breathtaking necklace that far exceeded my expectations. Dave has an amazing ability to bring your vision to life with beautiful craftsmanship. What really sets him apart, though, is his dedication to helping you find exactly what you're looking for. He listens carefully, offers expert advice, and takes the time to guide you through the entire process.
Not only is the service and quality top-notch, but the pricing is also incredibly fair. It’s rare to find a jeweler who offers such great value without sacrificing quality or craftsmanship.
If you're looking for outstanding jewelry, coins, and personalized service, I wholeheartedly recommend Dave Hur. You won't find a better place to make your jewelry...
