Food: 4 Freshness/cleanliness: 1 Service: 2 Overall: 2

Food: The food here is generally pretty good. Some of the rolls are very creative and fun, but most taste pretty much the same. Many rolls are either really bland or overloaded with different flavors that can take away from the typical sushi flavors. They have a large variety of options and are pretty friendly toward those with food allergies. The serving sizes here also seem to be fairly small compared to the cost of the food. 4 stars because the food is good, but there are far better sushi places like Tsunami who have more consistent quality.

Freshness/cleanliness: I have been to Itto many times and typically it tastes fresh and I have had no issues. My last couple experiences have been less than ideal though. At one visit they sat me at the bar, but the bar seemed to be sticky or have some sort of thick greasy film on it. The refrigerator for the fish near the bar also seemed as though it hadn't been cleaned in quite some time. In addition, I stopped by yesterday and when I arrived home my sashimi seemed to be rotten. It tasted and smelled extremely foul and stunk up the whole room. I had to take it to the outside garbage can because it smelled so bad. I noticed at the restaurant that they would leave the takeout boxes sitting on the counter for long periods of time. One set of boxes sat on the counter for over 30 minutes before being handed off to a customer, as appeared to be the same with multiple other boxes. They should have some sort of refrigeration unit for these boxes to keep it fresh. Toward the back of the store, but still out in the open, employees were throwing receipts and garbage at an overflowing garbage and garbage was scattered all over the floor. In previous times I have been, I have noticed that they don't always bus the tables but instead leave the dirty dishes lying around the restaurant. Overall, the cleanliness of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired and seems to get worse as time goes on. 1 star.

Service: I know that understaffing has been a problem at many restaurants, so I try to be a little bit understanding here. However, even during what appears to be slow hours food can take well over an hour to get to your table. Last time I dined in it took over an hour to get my food. Admittedly they did give me an extra piece of nigiri, but it still took a very long time. When I ordered take out yesterday it took about an hour and twenty minutes before I finally left with my food. When I first arrived at the store I asked about my food to which the employee said he would check. Almost 20 minutes later I still hadn't heard anything so I asked a different employee. He told me it would be 10 more minutes. After 25 more minutes they finally brought me my food. They were very kind and asked if they could throw in a drink. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed that the food was rotten and messaged the restaurant. I have yet to hear back from them on the issue but will update once I hear back.

Overall: This is an ok sushi restaurant with decent food and friendly employees. However, it is very unclean and service leaves a lot to be desired. If you are willing to put in the time commitment, then it is worth a shot. It has usually been good in my experience, and only one time have I been served food that was rotten. I guess in the end I have a mixed opinion, but all I can say is that the overall quality is not consistent. One time you may have a great experience, while the other may be very bad.

Update: This happened about a week ago and I have still not heard back from them. Terrible customer service all around. I will update if and when I get a response.

Update: After Itto Sushi commented on this review I emailed them and they did end up refunding my...

Itto Sushi is the place for unique rolls!

Itto Sushi has a large variety of sushi rolls, including some that are off the menu. The restaurant is very spacious inside and the staff is always so friendly.

First of all, let's talk about the unique rolls. They have two rolls that they actually light on fire, the Firebird and 911. I have had the Firebird and not only was it fun to watch, it was quite tasty. The rice at the bottom gets a little crisp to it. The Dracula roll is off the menu but is available by request all year round. Decked out in a smokey coffin, the Dracula is quite the spectacle. This roll ends up with a mild smokey taste. Presentation for all of the rolls in general is beautiful. They have a Love roll which comes out as two sushi pieces forming hearts.

With so many different rolls, it can definitely take a few visits until you find the ones that you enjoy the most! The first time I went to Itto Sushi I had the Romeo & Juliet roll, which I thought I would love because it includes mango. Unfortunately, I found the roll fairly bland. The next time I had the fire dragon, which was much better, although not as spicy as I hoped per the name. The roll that really impressed me was the Lion King, with that little bit of lime on top. That one is my favorite roll hands down.

Fish at Itto Sushi is always so fresh. Pricing is fair for the quality that you receive. Specials are available on certain days, and certain rolls are usually offered at a discount. Highly recommend giving Itto Sushi a go and trying a...

I don't do reviews often. It has to be really good or really bad. Unfortunately, this was both for me. I was so excited to find a sushi restaurant that offered basically every roll gluten-free for an additional charge. I went here mid-September for the first time and loved the food. I was specifically excited about the gyoza. I was told by our server that it was gluten-free TWICE. I didn't feel very good the next day, but I wasn't 100% sure why.

Fast forward a few days, and I had been craving some chicken teriyaki and thought it would be great to try theirs. I was told it comes with miso soup, which is not GF, so they asked did I want extra rice or extra salad. I asked for extra tempura veggies. When I got home with our order (1 GF and 1 regular), there was 1. No teriyaki sauce in sight on EITHER. 2. No miso soup for my husband. 3. No salad for either 4. No extra veggies for me.

I also found out when trying to order some GF gyoza again that they dont make their gyoza GF.

I tried to resolve this with the restaurant directly (who admitted that this was entirely their fault). I was told a manager would reach out to me, as there was no manager that day. 2 weeks later, I have heard NOTHING.

I was truly prepared to give my business to this restaurant frequently (I literally went there twice in 4 days) I very much appreciate restaurants that give alot of GF options and make a point of going to these places as often as I can. Their food is good. Their follow through when they make what were a lot of...

My first visit was a success! Tonight was my first time at Itto sushi. My brother in law has been trying to get me to come here for almost a year. Let me share my experience... We went during happy hour, where certain rolls are discounted. I was surprised by the number of rolls available at a reduced price. The value was excellent! We ordered six rolls, and the bill came to a bit over $40. We ordered a California, playboy, firebird, fire dragon, Itto, and vampire. Each roll had something, one element, that was very good. I thought, in general, everything tasted very good. The rice was great, not hard or plastic. The firebird had a wonderful smoky quality. The vampire had lobster on top. The fire dragon had a really nice little kick. The California was stuffed very full. One critique would be lack of texture. Not much of any crunchy elements. No textures to offset the rice, crab, cream cheese, shrimp, or lobster. Leaving me with a soft, creamy, jelly-like bite. But, even with that said, each one had something to remember and enjoy. I enjoyed my experience at Itto and I would certainly come back again. So let me explain my four star rating. Every review, for me, starts at a three. Three is average. So, four stars mean I really liked this restaurant. There is no shame in a four 🌟 review from me. I do think Itto could tweak a few things and get a five. They are extremely close. If you enjoy sushi, you'll enjoy Itto. If you don't enjoy sushi, you've never tried Itto. Give it a chance and you'll be glad you did.

My family and my brother’s family went to Itto Sushi together. We had 4 kids with us. Two under 8 and 2 tweens. Everyone loved the food! My brother’s family all ordered bento boxes and said they were delicious. My family started off with gyoza, then ordered the J roll, the Samurai roll, the Kill Bill, the Itto roll, the Vampire roll, the Fire Dragon roll, the Mafia roll, the Hokkaido roll, and the Wasatch roll. Everything was so loved that we had to remind the kids that we were not in a hurry and they could take their time eating. All the rolls were phenomenal! They had so much flavor, and each roll was so unique. The J roll was so good that my son just had to order another. This was the best sushi we have had in Utah County. I’m going to be craving it often. **EDITED TO ADD*** When I went to pay my credit card bill I happened to double check the charge with my receipt that was still in my wallet. They charged an extra $5 for their tip. I understand and have been to plenty of places that have a mandatory minimum tip when serving large groups: however, there was FOUR of us on our bill, and I don't remember seeing anything on the menu that would indicate that this would happen. And I left a good tip in the first place. (the service and food were great). I'm really disappointed that this happened. I have NEVER had an establishment give themselves a bigger tip than I had already left.

My wife and I decide to try this new place out and before we did we read all the reviews. Some of them complained about the wait time from getting seating too getting their food etc. From our first time experience we did not experience much of that, other than for one of our orders taking awhile to come out. The waiter apologized to us for the wait and the sushi chef came to out later to our table to ask how it was and to apologize again. We went on a Saturday night and it wasn’t busy at all, so we felt like the service was pretty good. Side note personally I felt like the food was great, but some things were weird and lacked rice. For example, my salmon nigiri rice ratio to meat was way off and my unagi (eel) had avacado on top of it which I couldn’t even taste and was just random. (Not Japanese) What I do give for the effort is it was different and new, but keep in my eyes just keep it simple. Overall great place, price isn’t too bad and great service....for now. Will see how it is when we go back again later. So, as of now I recommend checking them out. (Don’t know why they don’t have a phone number even though they do have a phone)
