Food was good, service left some to be desired
They made a couple mistakes in my order, and I wanted them to fix one - they got one of my kids an apple juice instead of chocolate milks. Normally not a big deal, but I have two kids who both like chocolate milk, and the other got chocolate milk while I had a bit of a car ride ahead of me.
But that happens, right? Not a problem, not enough to ruin an experience for me. I went inside to swap the juice for chocolate milk.
This is where it could have gone better. They had five or six workers running the drive-thru, including the manager, but not a single one could be bothered to turn around or even respond when I tried to politely get their attention, after several attempts.
They all had their backs to the lobby area; even the two having a nice nonproductive conversation while standing at a counter. Not sure what those two were doing - maybe waiting to receive food orders from the line and put ketchup and napkins in the bags? Not sure why it needed two people to do that, what with the two already in the drive thru window area, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.
But even then, I was surprised that nobody would even look for several attempts.
I did eventually get the manager to look at me - long enough for me to wave back at her - but instead of trying to get me helped, she walked away.
She didn't say we'll be with you in a moment, didn't tell one of her employees to see to the front counter, didn't tap anyone's shoulder, didn't do anything but walk away. It literally took whistling at them to get the attention of ONE of them who finally helped me. It was a really poor example of service and reflects poorly on their leadership.
tl;dr - had a couple mistakes, asked to get one fixed, was ignored even by the manager, I had to whistle to get their attention. Decent food, surprisingly poor example of...
Read moreI’ve been getting Wendy’s salads for years, 5 years at least. I’ve always asked to minus the cheese and even if I got a different lettuce then what was supposed to be in the salad I didn’t care as long as it had no cheese, never had a problem till I first went to this location specifically. They are the closest to my new work location and at first they were hesitant when I asked the first 2 times I went there, my third time going there they refused after I already ordered and was at the window to pay. The worker said they can’t do it, I asked for the manager who was an older white lady with longish hair. She said it’s against their policy, I asked if it was new and she said it’s never been something they could do despite them already doing it for me twice. She said they didn’t have time to hold up the line to make a new salad with my request and that was what her district manager said was policy. Remind you I’ve NEVER run into this issue till I tried this location, the manager was rude and condescending despite her not knowing their own policy. I asked what they did for people who have food allergies and they said they didn’t know, so I would watch out for that. The manager gave me the “district managers number (Juan)” on a piece of paper, called left a voicemail and never got anything back. I decided to test her theory of it apparently being against policy, went to a different location and they didn’t give me any hassle, made the salad and sent me on my way. This location is hands down the worst!! I will starve before I ever give them my time or money again. Don’t believe me just read the other reviews, this location is so out of touch with customer service and “policy” from every other location it’s unsettling. Take my advice and go to one of the other 2 locations around the area this one is not...
Read moreThis wendy's recently closed and did a massive update to their facility. It's one of the nicest fast food restaurants I've ever been in. Wendy's is always my top choice for fast food. But I will say, I'm giving them a 0 for service; not because the employees are rotten but because of the way I watched the daytime manager treat his employees. There was a line almost out the door at lunchtime today, and a girl hopped on the third register. It was our turn to order, and in the middle of taking our order I heard him yell across the kitchen at her that he didn't want her at the register! She looked genuinely scared, and he said, "Finish up your order and then get away from there". She took our order just fine, like she knew what she was doing, so I was really confused as to what the problem was. Why would he want only 2/3 of registers open if there was such a line? Then, when we were waiting for our food we watched a guy spill something on the floor. The manager walked by and looked at the same girl he'd just chastised and said, "Go get a mop and clean that up - that's why we don't spill things on the floor". The guy who had actually spilled it admitted to the manager that she hadn't been the one, but the manager didn't even apologize.
I did talk to the manager when my meal came and told him that I didn't appreciate the way he treated his employees, and that I'd go to the Wendy's up north on State street in the future. They aren't as flashy and fancy, but that type of behavior from a manager makes me sick. If it's all the same, I would say check out the other Wendy's in the future. And to the girl, I'm sorry you had to put up with that. I worked the register at a local chain when I was in college and I know that there are really great...
