Me being 25 years old, this job was not for me. This job is for people who have a full time job already or going to school on the side. From the jump, communication from management to employee is very low. On my third day, I was placed in the store by myself with no communication that this would happen. Per staff and owner I was told that this was due to my work ethic but I later found out that it was because the store had no coverage and put in a unfortunate situation unknowingly. Theres only one manager for 3 stores that poorly communicates to her employees when it comes to business (paid on time, availability correctness, maximizing hourly scheduling). Theirs no direct deposit, only checks that get distributed every two weeks. Properly communicating with management that you need hours will give you a ticket out the door because they have no hours to give, yet they hire frequently.
The Owners morale is high and he will tell you a lot of promising things that he will fail to keep due to him being more about they money than the concerns of his workers. Communicating with the owner on what’s happening at his stores is like talking to yourself, your opinions and thoughts do not matter. If you want a company that’s constantly hiring and want as little hours as possible, Smoothie King is best for you. But if you want a company to grow with, you’re good at communicating and your looking to get a lot of hours then Smoothie King wouldn’t be for you. By far the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life.
I wish my experience was better but the only good thing that came from working for Smoothie King is the free smoothies but free smoothies don’t pay bills unfortunately.I have evidence for all claims I’ve given per...
Read morePlace was clean, however I literally watched the girl pour a smoothie into the cup and lick it??? I took a video at the fifth or sixth time she’s done this because that is disgusting. They usually have phenomenal portion sizes, but I saw that my cup was half the portion I usually get. Mine is usually to the brim, but today it was literally less than 3/4th. The guy had good customer service when taking my order, but then I waited to get my order for about 10 minutes when no one else was in the store other than another girl who got her order (ordered a bit after me) and left a bit before me because she got a smoothie that the girl working made. The guy no joke went to cleaning before he made my bowl. He didn’t even know what was in the smoothie bowl and hesitated multiple times, I was about to guide him so he could hurry up. I’m genuinely disappointed because this is my go to treat, but I feel like they’re slowly falling off. Their old hires were much better, the arab guys & the girls were phenomenal and...
Read moreHonestly so glad one opened in Orland Park, but will definitely stick with taking the trip to the Mokena location. Not only for better smoothies but better customer service. The employees were all wearing crocs?? Not sure if those are nonslip shoes. Felt like they were in a hanging out environment, which don't get me wrong you should feel comfortable at work but not with those house shoes. I got a 32oz Lemon Twist Strawberry and it tastes like only strawberries and has a bitter taste. The employee also didn't make enough of the smoothie and dumps into the cup then back into the blender and added SO much ice, and so it watered the smoothie down. It was not at all thick like they should be. I also got a 32oz Island Impact and the pineapple also tasted pretty bitter and was also super watery. One positive thing was the place was super clean and smelled like a new place but that was...
