Widen's Hot Dogs — Restaurant in Orland Township

I’m very disappointed in this establishment customer service and how they treat people. I came in late afternoon there was only 2 people inside this restaurant I stated “ hello “ out loud and then “ hello “ twice at the register before ordering the young man said “ what can I get you” not even acknowledging my greeting. I look at him and walked out . Why spend your money where people don’t even greet you and you’re coming into their establishment supplying business. This isn’t the first time I experienced this here I felt so uncomfortable one time I stood outside after ordering my food they brought it outside as if they didn’t me to re-enter. LOVE this place!!! First time customer today but won't be my last! Dan was SO FRIENDLY! Several "regulars" came in while I was there, and Dan knew their "usual"! You just don't see that anymore! I told Dan I had read the positive reviews and seen this was once a Jr's, so I decided to try it. So often, things are not as you remember, but the Italian Beef with red sauce took me back 40 years to when I was a teenager and had a Jr's. right down the street! I’ve been going here for over 20 years. I have known mark since that time. I live in Elmhurst and my aunt and mom live in Orland. I don’t have a chili restaurant to go to in Elmhurst. I’ve called acouple of times since we’ve been in the shelter and shut down phase but never spoke to anyone. I really hope that they are doing okay. I would hate to see them go out of business due to this situation. Mark is a very nice guy and I love this chili.
