First time eating at any Another Broken Egg location and it was genuinely one of the worst food experiences I've had in a really long time.
While eating I thought I'd at least give them 2 stars for service because our server was kind enough and I don't enjoy punishing servers for bad food, but as the meal progressed and he completely ignored our table, I decided I'd be lying if I said service was good.
When we arrived, we were quoted 25 minutes for a party of 2, but it ended up being closer to 40 which we didn't mind too much since it was prime brunch time.
Once we were seated and placed our orders, it took over 30 minutes to receive our food which, while annoying, we were ok with considering the time (even though by the time we were seated there were several empty tables).
Our food eventually came out and I have no words to describe how horrendous my dish was. I ordered the Southwest Scramble and right away was put off by how it looked. The only way I can describe it is that the eggs looked like they had been cooked on a dirty pan/flat top full of brunt bits. The accompanying guacamole was completely brown and my tortillas were stale and crisp around the edges.
When I dug in, I was shocked to find out that I hadn't lowered my expectations enough based on how the food looked. The scrambled eggs tasted bad bad bad and were incredibly, unpleasantly mushy and there was no salt or seasoning of any kind to be found on the potatoes, guac, or salsa. The only way I could make my food mildly edible was by dousing everything in a ton of ketchup and hot sauce and even then I had to leave more than half of my food on the plate.
I also ordered black coffee and it was so bad that I didn't even care that our server forgot to come back around for refills.
As if the dining experience hadn't been terrible enough, we had to again wait for close to 30 minutes for our server to show up and ask if we were ready for our checks.
I am truly baffled at how unpleasant the whole experience was! I'm forever put off by Another Broken Egg and will steer clear of them from here on out. Not just this location, but...
Read moreMe, my husband, and child stopped at this location for breakfast on Saturday morning around 8am on 8/26/2023. We have eaten at the Winter Park and Lake Mary location several times before and never had an issue but the experience at this location was horrible from the time we entered. When we entered the young hispanic man that was the host was not friendly at all and looked miserable like he did not want to be there. My husband requested a table for 3 and it took the host about 5-7 minutes to seat us while looking down at his tablet and there was not many customers in the restaurant. Once we were finally seated and the host just walked away without saying anything, there was several waitresses that walked by serving other customers, refilling their beverages, while we sat there invisible to everyone for 20 minutes. Finally I could not take it anymore and asked one of the waitresses if anyone was assigned to our area. She told us to hold on while she walked to the front of the restaurant and when she returned I asked her if everything was okay because she looked bothered. She told me she was not the server for us and pointed to another server who was coming out of the kitchen and told us that was our waitress but she was going to help us and take our order. After placing our order the other waitress brought us our drinks and said our food would be out soon. No apologies for our wait, nothing. As we sat waiting, a Caucasian couple walked in the restaurant and was seated behind us right away and less than 3 minutes the lady that took our order went to their table, greeted them with a smile, and provided them with napkins and utensils. I was shocked, we decided to leave and not spend our money at this restaurant. I am not a person that like to call out race but we did feel we were treated poorly because of the color of our skin. I will never return to this location. Horrible way to treat any customer no matter what their...
Read moreWe had such high expectations of this restaurant since we have been to another location in Siesta Key but boy, was this a disappointment. Upon entering the hostess sat us immediately without asking how many or where we would like to sit. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful but so loud and the floors were disgusting, from food to trash and random puddles. Our table was wiped down but one of the chairs still had what looked like grits smudged on it. The chair I sat next to that one had a puddle right by my feet so I had to use my silverware napkin to wipe it down. Our server walked up behind my partner and I who were holding hands and placed Napkins and straws right between us and asked if we were ready to order. We still don't know her name. She deff seemed like she was not happy to be there. No personality. The tables are mighty close and another server bumped into my arm and never apologized. He apologized after our server mentioned I was upset and she saw my face when It happened. His applogy was "my bad, I didn't mean to hit your chair." Food was cold and ready in less than 10mins. HOW?! Very disappointing. I still didn't have my drink when food came out and it wasn't made like the menu stated. Syrup bottle was disgusting and the syrup was clearly watered down. We observed another server walking with a tray of drinks, wipe his sweat off with his hand and proceed to serve and open straws to other guests. Bartenders were drinking and eating behind the bar. How sanitary. Our server spent time chatting away with another server while we waited to check out. She apologized for the wait when we clearly saw she was just chatting. Needless to say, we WILL NOT return to this location. We paid for what we ate and still paid over $5 for a side of eggs and bacon. Smh ruined my Saturday brunch plans. *UPDATE * After we got our check, we found out our servers name was Emily. Stay away! Go to a different...
