I stayed here for 2 weeks while in between houses. The property is in "like new" condition in my view and was very clean. It had a pool and a nice hotel gym. The location overall is good with restaurants and shopping walking distance away. They also offer an airport shuttle. The plane noise from the airport wasn't bad though there was some noise from the auto transporters that were moving cars across the street at all hours (My room faced the street so I probably heard it more prominently than most). Breakfast was offered every day and some offerings rotated, but they had scrambled eggs every day and then a mix of sausage, omelets, bacon, biscuits, gravy, spinach egg quiche, jalapeno egg souffles, some fruit, and some yogurt. I try to eat pretty healthy so I would usually go for the greek yogurt, which they only had about 4-5 days and then a banana/apple, but they also did not have those every day. There was plenty of parking and parking is free as a guest. I saw signs that they offered parking at $9/day for the airport. I didn't partake, but there is also a hotel bar.
As far as the staff, Emily at the front desk stood out as she was excellent. She remembered my name and would always ensure issues were taken care of quickly. There were 2 gentleman who were part of the housekeeping crew (They weren't wearing name tags so I'm not sure of their names) who were also very helpful. The rest of the staff were fine and professional. I would frequently have to ask for items that housekeeping wouldn't replace such as taking the soap or taking the hand towels, but the front desk would always get them replaced quickly.
One thing that was disappointing was to see a daily $16.80 "MCO Airport Impact Charge" on the bill. This really added up over 2 weeks and it was not disclosed up front nor is it listed on the website. For such a substantial charge, I am surprised it's not listed on the website just like a resort fee would be. I debated lowering the score from a 4 to 3 based on this charge, but didn't think that would be fair since it is a nice hotel.
I am in a wheelchair and stayed in a room with a roll-in shower. The roll-in shower itself is narrow so the water tends to spill out when you are using the handheld shower head. This created a mess that I would have to soak up with towels. The kitchen faucet was not accessible from a wheelchair and required me to use a device to reach it. Apart from that, the beds were lower than they are at most Towneplace Suites I've stayed at which was great. The room also had automatic blinds, which was also very helpful. While the 2 issues I mentioned above would seem to be pretty major, this is (somewhat sadly I suppose) better than most accessible rooms I have stayed in over the last...
Read moreAs a frequent traveler and loyal Bonoy Rewards Member, I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with this hotel. I used reward points, accumulated over a long period, to book our stay. Unfortunately, our flight was extremley delayed due to a tropical storm, and we were unable to reach the hotel.
My husband and I called the hotel around 1 or 2 a.m. to explain our situation. The staff member who answered was prompt, seemed rushed and mentioned he was very busy but said he understood and would make sure to take care of the situation. We had checking in on the app and explained this to him. He assured us not to worry and that we would receive refund of our points in the next few days. Being he was so rushed in our communication, I waited a couple of hours and even called again (we were still delayed at the airport about 3am at this time)He said he was still busy, but not to worry, he was handling it. I checked our app and saw that nothing had changed so I then sent a text to the hotel to have written documentation. He replied with an 'OK'.
A week later, with no refund received, I contacted customer service. They assured me that the issue would be resolved and it should be no problem whatsover, especially with the written text I had that clearly showed we never made it there. However, two weeks later, I STILL had not received the refund. When I followed up, I was informed that the manager was refusing to honor the refund and that I needed to speak with him directly. Here we are over 2 months and despite multiple calls and voicemails, the manager never returned my calls and was always "unavailable" when I called and asked to speak to him. Ive been transferrred to voicemail and never had a message returned to this day.
While I wasn’t out of pocket, the unprofessionalism in handling this matter was unacceptable. If this is how they treat loyal, long-time customers, it reflects poorly on their customer service. As a frequent traveler, I am deeply disappointed with how this hotel, and especially its general manager, handled the situation. Just be cautious when booking here. I also inquired how to leave a review on Mariotts home site and was told I needed to receive the review request from the hotel after my "stay" which of course, I...
Read moreWorst hotel ever. Make sure to check your bill because I was charged $19.04 after I checked out for no reason. I called the hotel and was told that it is a city fee because they are close to the airport. What a nonsense! Nobody ever informed me about that fee. This hotel is a scam! It is unethical and probably illegal. I will tell my bank not to pay it! I recently spent two nights there and had very unpleasant experiences. First night the toilet broke and I called the front desk for help. I was informed that no maintenance workers were on duty. They sent me a plunger and we spent over half an hour trying to fix the toilet and it didn’t work. Dirty water overflowed from the toilet. We couldn’t use the toilet that night. The next morning, I specifically asked the front desk to clean the room. Two people in the front desk assured me that they would clean my room.. That night we came back and the room was dirty. We didn’t have clean towels to use. I called the front desk and she was not able to help me and she put me on hold for a long time. Later when I called back again, she just hang up up my call multiple times. I had to go down to the lobby to ask her for help because she hung up my call every time. Then she switched me to another room. As you can see in the picture, the towel in that room is dirty. The blind is broken. I talked to the front desk about my experience and she offered to compensate me for my terrible experience. However, her manager was not there and she promised that her manager would call me or email me. However, nothing happened. I strongly recommend you avoid this hotel unless you want to have a super unpleasant experience like mine and pray nothing happens at night because nobody can...
