Fortuna Bakery & Coffee - Millenia Mall — Restaurant in Orlando

Friday May 2nd at Millennial Mall. After shopping I wanted to get a bite to eat but nothing too extravagant or heavy so I walked through the food court to see what the offerings were. I came across Fortuna Bakery! The pastry case caught my eye, lined with doughy and flaky treats. Upon closer inspection there were savory finger foods too. My favorite empanadas are the Colombian type amply stuffed with chicken and beef and wrapped in a corn dough. The corn shell is unique and flavorful and holds sauce well. These empanadas were served with a creamy garlic and herb sauce. The kind and sweet smiling server offered us to try chicharones…the pork belly chunks were crispy yet tender served with fresh wedges of lime! There was also a treat that accompanied the chicharones … an arepa made of yucca! Just a few empanadas, an arepa with chicharones was enough for 2 people.
