The Tea Room Experience was a sight unseen venue we selected to host a bridal shower. I relied heavily on reviews and photos from previous guests and it turned out perfectly! Angel and his team (two additional hostesses) provided service that exceeded expectations. We had a total of approximately 30 guests and the space was ideal. The variety and amount of servings of sweet and savory tea menu items was fantastic. Many commonly found tea menu items such as cucumber sandwiches and scones were elevated with exceptional ingredients such as tea and lavender infused cupcakes. The decor was customized for the brides preference of "Tangled" themed gold and purple and the tea china wall was a beautiful photo back drop for pictures. Communication throughout the event planning process with Angel was perfect and on the day of the bridal shower, we had one guest who cannot have gluten. Although the venue does not provide for specialized nut (cannot guarantee no contact) or gluten free menu options, Angel was able to put together a plate of "fillings" (chicken salad, etc.) and fruit- much appreciated. Our contract time frame of 3 hours was ideal for our event- enough time to welcome, meet and greet, tea service (wonderful hostesses who accommodated requests quickly) games, opening of gifts, and lots and lots of "tea toasts" to the bride. Our pre-tea service started with orange juice or tropical juice in champagne glasses that you could easily turn in to mimosas if you brought your own chilled champagned- we chose not to but it is nice to have options. As the planner for this event, it was a stress-free venue- it could be pricier than a room in a dining establishment but the privacy of the venue, speciality menu, and excellent host/hostess catering to our questions, wishes, and requests exceeded expectations and worth every penny! Some items to consider that may be a challenge for a guest: 1) parking- downtown parking garages (not my favorite) all within walking distance but I do not prefer my guests to have to pay for anything (even a couple bucks for parking) when I extend and invitation. 2) Restroom- there is not a restroom in the venue, you have to walk about two doors down to use the facilities in the same building as the venue- this was truly not a big deal for me because it was not far and I got to walk through a lovely art gallery. So, if you have an event of 20-30 (more than 35 would be tight and less than 20 would look empty in the space) I would highly recommend this venue!! P.S. Photos from my event not posted for privacy but other photos posted to Google Reviews match exactly to...
Read moreI had booked my birthday party with 13 people at The Tea Room Experience. The food was good and the tea was delicious. But what really fell short for me was the customer service. I signed a contract and I was told that we weren’t allowed to bring balloons, confetti, and candles so I made sure to let my guests know that these weren’t allow. I also read in the contract that we are not allowed to open gifts because we would not have time to open them and it could be loud. At one point during the party my sister had my guests go around and say their favorite memory with me and everyone would have a good laugh from the stories, at certain points we would hear a loud bell ringing but carried on with our stories since we did not know why the bell was being rung. My fiancé noticed after the loud bell rang three times in a row that we were getting dirty looks from the workers and he said that he thinks the bell is ringing because we were too loud. I would have liked to have been communicated with that we were being too loud or made aware in the beginning that they like to ensure that the volume is low in the room for others to enjoy. But instead I had to get dirty looks and shush my guests for laughing at a birthday party. How were my guests suppose to know unless told that this service is meant to be quiet. It feels like if you are an establishment that is advertises parties that you should anticipate some laughter. I also felt very uncomfortable when everyone decided to sing me happy birthday, because I was hoping that my guests weren’t too loud. I was also never given a candle to burn out since we weren’t allowed to bring candles which just seems odd since I booked a “birthday party” here. I’ve never heard of a birthday party where you cannot blow out candles. Overall, I ended up leaving uncomfortable...
Read moreI do not typically write reviews, but I feel like I owe the people of Orlando a justice by sharing my experience with The Orlando Tea Room. I had booked the room for my daughter’s Sweet Sixteen birthday party. The room was booked for 10 young ladies and I paid it in advance. This was supposed to include the table set ups, decadent desserts, and English teas. Unfortunately, a few of the girls that were attending got sick and could not make it. Therefore, I called to ask if I could move the reservation to another date, I even asked for a date weeks later in case they were fully booked. The “manager” I spoke to was extremely unreasonable and did not allow me to move the party to another date nor did she give me any other options except to have the “food” boxed up to be picked up. The whole purpose of booking the Orlando Tea Room Experience was so that my daughter and her friends could have the one of kind "experience" that is stated on their website and within their name!
As you can imagine not only am I extremely upset but also humiliated. This was supposed to be an amazing experience for a very special moment in any young woman’s life, and it was turned into a nightmare where not only did they disappoint and make my daughter extremely sad by ruining her special day but they basically robbed me of $500. When I told the “manager” that I would write a review of my experience and made it very clear that I was unhappy, she did not seem to care at all. I too work in the customer service industry, where we do our best to accommodate our customers. This establishment needs to work on their customer service skills and how to build relationships with customers to meet their needs. Do yourself a favor and don’t come here, it is not worth the headache and stress of their horrible customer...
